There are plenty of computers available on campus. Each student is given $25 from their account to print what they need, which students have found useful. The computer network can be either direct line or wireless, and it's reliable and extremely fast. At the beginning of the year, students will receive a user name and need to create their password to tap into the Wi-Fi connection. The computer labs are seldom crowded because there are several labs across campus. Most students bring their own laptops, due to the fact that all dorms have mostly wireless Internet. The computer labs are relatively empty for most of the day, and it is also convenient to check out laptops for hours at a time from the library.
Linfield computer labs are state-of-the-art and available in numerous locations throughout the campus to anyone with a current valid Linfield ID. The Miller Fine Arts Center mixed lab is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the academic semesters. The computer lab in Renshaw contains 26 dual boot computers that can run either Windows or Apple/Mac operating systems and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The library contains 49 computers in addition to laptops that can be checked out by students. Several departments, including music, art, communications, education, physics, and chemistry provide specialized computer facilities for their students. Other departments have mini-labs, which students can utilize by availability through the professors.
