Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be involved within the community and participate in extracurricular activities, as the College emphasizes "connecting learning, life, and the community."
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Maintain a good GPA.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Be sure to meet as many people as you can throughout the year.
  • Be sure to pack clothes for snowy weather. It's not supposed to snow that much in McMinnville, but that doesn't mean it won't.
  • If you need a job for the school year, be sure to look as soon as possible. School positions get filled quickly, and you might end up with a facilities job.
  • It's not a big deal to go up to professors and ask questions. Professors encourage students to visit during office hours, so you can better understand the material.
  • Useful items that would be helpful around the dorm are bed risers, Clorox wipes, dishes and utensils, and lots of posters and pictures to fill up blank wall space.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Interviews are recommended; however, they are not required to gain admission. Also, the Office of Admission's staff is also extremely helpful in providing information and excellent in responding to questions in a timely manner.
Campus Tours
Prospective students can schedule individual campus visits with the Office of Admission. Tour times during the academic year are Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. During the summer, tours are held Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Individual campus visits also include a meeting with an admission counselor, sitting in on a class, having lunch with a current student, meeting with a faculty member or athletic coach, and spending a night on campus.

Overnight Visits
Overnight stays are encouraged and give a firsthand glimpse of what life is like at Linfield. Class visits, overnight stays, and residence hall tours are available. If you cannot make the events that are held on a particular day, you can contact the staff, and arrangements can be made.
