4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The facilities and campus is absolutely great. The whole campus itself is stunning. The buildings with classrooms are accommodating and nice. There is definitely a good variety. There are a lot of housing options as well, both modern and older. The library is a great place to study.

Campus Dining: The food at my school is lacking. It is hard as a student to find healthy, delicious options. I just don't understand why this is the case considering we are in the center of farm country.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere of McMinnville, Oregon is nice. The town includes great restaurants, hotels for family to stay, outdoor activities, cute shops, and more.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness at my school is average. It is not too little, and typically not too over the top.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Linfield I believe falls in the average category for enforcing policies that relate to student's social lives. I believe their policies toward academica achievement are more important to the school.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I have been in one of the older dorms this year. I shared a double room and it was way too small, especially since I had a roommate that I didn't get along with. The showers on my floor were broken most of the time. All housing options are close to all class buildings. Some of the dorms/apts have better amenities (like sinks in the room). Next year I have a single room. This should be much better.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: All Linfield sporting teams do really well, especially football, softball and baseball. There is a lot of school support and spirit.

4 College Freshman

Parking: A car is not really necessary to attend Linfield. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores etc are within easy walking distance. I have a car at school so I can go home on weekends. The lot I park in always have spaces available and is right behind my dorm. $85 a year for parking is a pretty good deal.

3 College Senior

Diversity: The majority of the school is caucasian students, sometimes it is nice to be a minority.

College Senior

Academics: I have not chosen my definite major yet.

4 College Senior

Weather: It's perfect for the typical pacific northwestern girl.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Sometimes I wish I could live off campus, but that's not an option until senior year.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Wish there could be more visitation time in dorms.

5 College Senior

Scholarships: Linfield has great support for helping their students pay for college.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: The food on and off campus are enough to get you by but there could be more options.

3 College Senior

Athletics: The sports at Linfield are fun to attend, however, other activities are well supported too.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Lots of fun to be had :)

2 College Junior

Overall Experience: Linfield portrays themselves in a very different way than they actually are

2 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: No a cool place to hangout

4 College Junior

Computers: Awesome technology centers and people

2 College Junior

Parking: Hardly anywhere to park, especially during games. Students get parking tickets all of the time.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The meal plan sucks and you have to be on it when in campus housing

3 College Junior

Nightlife: You just have to know where to go.

2 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The head of campus security has been trying to get the local police department involved with every violation.

1 College Junior

Diversity: Hardly any LGBTQ or ethnic diversity

The majority of students states that Linfield College is excellent if you're looking for smaller classes, individual attention, and a focus on academics with the opportunity to enjoy sports and extracurricular activities. Linfield has excellent professors who really care about students; the only drawback is that the school is located in a small rural town, where it can sometimes seem boring. However, if students are willing to look hard enough, there is always something to do, no matter what students' interests are. Generally, everything is accessible, and there are plenty of resources. It's relatively easy to find your niche.

Linfield is an excellent college for those who are looking for a small school with a focus on academics, access to professors, and a strong emphasis on the study abroad program. The College is perfect for students who want a balance between academics and developing leadership skills through civic events in the community, internships, as well as having the time to participate in extracurricular activities. The College's mantra is that "Linfield is a place of connecting learning, life, and community." Hands-on learning through projects and developing real world skills from internship programs and international study (as well as extracurricular activities) are valuable experiences that students prize at Linfield.
