3 College Junior

Weather: A little rain doesn't hurt. Sometimes roads can get icy during winter, but not often.

1 College Junior

Athletics: The campus isn't much into sports. Its main focus is nursing and healthcare.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus. Adequate safety measures are in place to keep students/faculty safe.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Faculty are readily available and genuinely want their students to succeed. Many go above and beyond to help students attain their dreams.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: School is strict, wants to ensure the safety of students and faculty. Doors require code during after hours.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Portland has a million restaurants so there are a lot of options.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: I'm not really sure what to say about this. Everybody's fine.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus but don't know very much about the policies.

College Junior

Greek Life: The nursing program does not have any Greek life.

College Junior

Campus Dining: The nursing campus does not have on-campus dining.

4 College Junior

3 College Junior

Weather: It's Oregon, so it's rainy, but we deal with it fine.

College Junior

Drug Safety: I have only attended school at the nursing program, where most students live off-campus.

3 College Junior

Diversity: The nursing program has a small but visible number of students of color. There are student groups based around ethnicity, religion, political values, and sexual orientation.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I love living in Portland, and I plan to stay here for the rest of my life.

College Junior

Nightlife: I haven't started classes at Linfield yet, so I haven't seen the nightlife.

College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I didn't have to find other housing once I was accepted into the program.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Public transportation can be a little complicated, depending on where you're coming from. Driving to school is a little easier, if you get a permit, although you can sometimes find parking around the school. A shuttle passes through, so that can also be helpful.

Campus Strictness: The school is very strict about their academic policy. For example, I didn't complete all the preparation for a HiFi sim lab simply because I was unaware of it and I was severely reprimanded. I was sent home and received an academic alert, for which I had to see my advisor about. Everything was fine and I made up the lab, but I was surprised how seriously a little misstep was taken!

Scholarships: I applied earlier than I had planned, so I didn't have a chance to apply for scholarships. I ended up getting the subsidized and unsubsidized loans that the school offered, along with a nursing loan, and transfer scholarship (I also received money from FAFSA). Besides that, I had to apply for another loan outside of what I was offered, and it was very stressful trying to figure everything out. Without a cosigner, I wouldn't have been able to qualify for the loan, so I definitely suggest finding a cosigner and/or applying early to as many scholarships as you can. Filling out FAFSA was fine because I've been doing it for a few years now, but trying to figure out how to pay for the remaining costs has definitely been frustrating.

4 College Junior

Facilities: I'm not sure about other schools, but some things that stuck out to me were the lofi and hifi labs. The labs allow you to interact with "patients" and give you a feel for a hospital setting. The hifi lab involves a person speaking through a mannequin, which lets you get a real life feel, and gives you the chance to deal with different situations.
