Academics: The workload at my school is pretty heavy. I would not consider the work to be very hard, but the amount of work us students get is sometimes too much. The teachers are great and have great patience with students. The teachers make the classes more enjoyable. However every student must keep a positive attitude to succeed.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drugs are against Liberty's policies and they are enforced well.

4 College Freshman

Majors: No, I have not had an internship. As a nursing student, I will be getting plenty of clinical experience starting in my sophomore year. Upon graduation, I plan to apply for a job as an RN.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: There is so much to do at Liberty. There is a year round ski-slope and ice rink. There are always sporting events to attend. The school also has an excellent theater program.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Health and safety is excellent at Liberty. The food is healthy and medical team is ready to assist you if necessary.

Guys & Girls: Generally, everyone on campus is friendly. You can meet a lot of great people. On the whole, the students are academically driven and focused. Everyone dresses really nice too. At Liberty, there is this phrase, “Ring by spring.” Dating and relationships are joked about and encouraged at the same time.

Campus Dining: The campus has a variety of places to eat including Chick-Filet and Starbucks. Additionally, the cafeteria staff does their best to make healthy food available. There is a salad bar. Also, the cafeteria cooks do a good job with making a variety of food. Within the main dining hall, there are a variety of ethnic foods as well.

Majors: I can truly say that I like my program! I am learning a lot, especially in the bible courses. The only thing that I wish is that on the degree completion plan audit. they would list all the courses or types of courses you need to graduate. Not just specific sections. I would not do everything over again. My career goals are to get a job in a church in children's ministry probably.

Campus Housing: I live off campus. I commute to school daily. What I have experienced in the dorms is okay. You have to be okay with people entering and leaving with one knock and you have to be nice and accepting of everyone. They are relatively clean and there are a lot of social activities. The proximity to classes are okay. You have a little early to make it to class: it's more than 5 minutes.

Weather: Well Lynchburg first off is very diverse in weather. One day it will be hot and sunny and the next day there is a blizzard. I love Liberty because of it's diversity!! The only downside to all the different weather is THE RAIN. It rains ALL the time at liberty. Lynchburg has the nickname of DRENCHburg and it lives up to that name. If you go to Liberty make sure you bring your rainboots, umbrella, and raincoat. Also don't forget the snowsuit and gloves. LOL but for real you'll need it all.

Computers: Students at Liberty have a lot of jokes about how slow the computers are. Like anytime we have to wait at all or if any website won't immediately open, everyone immediately blames LU's wifi. However, from experience the computers work really well! We have mac labs and normal PC'S and there are computers EVERYWHERE so it's not too bad. With the new addition of the new library we are going to have even more computers and even BETTER wifi. So there is no complaining here. Even with this many though they usually are just crowded at crunch times like right in between classes and during finals week. Printing can get a little pricey at LU but theres a little known secret about the printing lab on the 1st floor of Demoss. It does it for cheaper!!! You don't really need your own laptop but it is definitely advised!

Diversity: Liberty University actually has a lot of diversity. One probably would not expect that when looking at a private christian college, however there are many different types of people on campus. Besides many types of races there are a lot of different personalities. Most people that attend however are republican and christan and straight. Suprisingly, the people here are not very judgemental either! Liberty has a made up unreal persona of being oneminded rude people but they are quite the opposite! BTW, there are TONS of canadians!

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Because it is a Christian based University and you can take all of you class if you want to online and not have to leave your house. It is a great school and people should look in to it.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I would do it all over again. I am studying to become a psychologist. I believe that I will not have a problem finding a job.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Computers are good, internet is slow or nonexistent, and during class hours it is hard to find a computer to use.

1 College Freshman

Parking: If you can afford the cost of getting a parking sticker you most likely have a bad parking spot and if you park in the wrong area you will most likely be towed.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus, although it is an open campus it has a very safe atmosphere and leaving items unattended is usually not a problem. Dorm buildings are always locked and girls and guys are not allowed on each others hall. Health is normal, if someone gets sick it will go around, but nothing serious.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol are not allowed on campus and if a student is found using either they are spoken to and receive demerit points. Although some get away with doing it, it is a very small number.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Liberty has nearly every sport available to students, whether offered as a club sport or varsity sport. With top sport facilities and training. This includes a large gym, and two huge stadiums on campus. A little too much emphasis is placed on sports.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Our meal plan helps pay for most off-campus dining and the dining off-campus is usually very good and somewhat cost convenient. Sheets will always be a great place to grab a snack. There is a wide variety of restaurants and cafe's to chose from very close to the University.

4 College Freshman

Majors: The Nursing program at Liberty University is a rigorous four year program that encourages hard work and effort in their future careers. Professors are excellent and have worked the fields in witch they teach so they have first hand experience in Nursing and they encourage students to work hard and achieve all that they can.

Local Atmosphere: Lynchburg is a very boring place to live, it has no places to hang out, the food tax is incredibly high, and it would not be a place to go walking around at night by yourself.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid process is always an ongoing process because of the steep price of going to Liberty University. students have to constantly look for new scholarships to be able to afforded to go, that is unless the student is well off, but even well off students often have some financial aid. Though it may be an ongoing process there are a multitude of financial aid options that are offered.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Liberty University makes a good effort to help the students be respectable adults by having a strict dress code, though some of the polices are out of date for the current youth. Some of the out of date restrictions include: no gauges, men must where pants and collared shirts to class, men must keep hair shorter than their ears, no tank tops, no being out of class dress in education buildings before 4pm even if there is no class. Though the dress code may be good keeping dress appropriate, It goes too far for college students who should be allowed to decide if something is immodest or not on their own.

Off-Campus Housing: I know very little about off-campus living because I desire to stay on campus for most of my college career. However, I have heard many conversations about this and what I hear is that living off-campus is great for those who need a little bit more freedom from a school like Liberty. The availability is not too hard. Many places are open around the city of Lynchburg and are in a pretty convenient location to the school campus. Living off-campus is supposedly much cheaper than on-campus living without taking the account of laundry and electricity. Due to the fact that Liberty is in a college town, it is filled with apartment complexes.
