Off-Campus Dining: there are alot of restaurants nearby, and a lot of variety. there's definately better choices, but i love the sonic that's near the back of the campus

Local Atmosphere: The scenery is simply breath taking. The people are friendly, even further in Lynchburg past liberty. There is an air of safety and just Christ centered people everywhere. the blue ridge mountains and the elevation of the school make it's scenery truly breath taking.

Academics: Excellent. By far the most comprehensive and complete University, even for a first timer like me. It has been a pleasant experience, that encourages inner growth that will last a lifetime. Can't wait to achieve my degree

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I connect with fellow classmates/professors through social networks like facebook and even have access to apps like LUO that premieres campus life and make even the farthest of champions feel at home at Liberty.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: friendly, faith and spiritually oriented environment makes for a wonderful place to learn and grow and even spend time with family, friends, colleagues, and classmates alike

Academics: great teachers, friendly peers, welcoming student atmosphere, strong dyncamics, and plenty of tutors and assistance throughout all levels of academia.

Athletics: We have amazing athletics at Liberty. Pulling from an article that is in the "Liberty Journal," our campus magazine that I have on my desk - 15 athletic teams went to national championships this year, 20 different men's and women's teams compete in NCAA Division I, and 31 club sports teams are available for athletes.

Health & Safety: The great thing about Liberty is that there is always someone willing to walk to to Walmart or back to your dorm at night. Very often the brother/sister dorms will have connections where the "brothers" make sure all the "sisters" get back to their dorm safely if they need to stay out past dark.

Weather: Virginia is an unpredictable state to live in. Lynchburg is probably the most unpredictable part of the state in terms of weather. Sunday it's snowing and by Friday it's sunny and warm. Then Monday rolls around and it rains straight for over a week. Be flexible with your wardrobe.

Parking: I don't have a car, but I know that the parking situation on campus is horrible. My friends constantly have to move their cars from lot to lot, avoiding LU Towing capturing their cars and holding them for ransom. The most typical place the student body parks is "The Pit", a parking lot on the very edge of campus and laying a few feet from a literal pit. The parking situation is bad, and it doesn't help that Freshman can bring their cars.

Campus Dining: The options for on-campus dining are nice, and I'm sure better than most schools. However, the cafeteria gets old very fast. The food gets very cheap and downright gross at times. The other dining options have much higher quality of food, which is why there are almost always ridiculous lines. Beyond that, most of the alternatives to the cafeteria also have extremely bad hours. Most of them are closed on the weekends, and on weekdays, half of them close before 6 pm.

Nightlife: If you're looking for a party scene, Liberty isn't it. Sure, there are plenty of late-night runs for frozen yogurt and Nerf gun wars in the halls and corridors on the weekends. But if bars and night-clubs are what you're looking for, you've come to the wrong school. If there are any parties (with drinking and/or drugs) on or near campus, it will be underground, like a Prohibition-era speakeasy but way less cool. Other than that, one of the nearby secular schools could possibly have such nightlife. However, there is plenty of fun to be had on Liberty's campus: creative, appropriate, and legal fun.

Majors: The Worship Program at Liberty University is absolutely fantastic. I have been blown away by how much I have learned and the skills I've gained in just one year. The professors are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. (I wouldn't have been able to pass a couple of my classes without their help.) Plus they are all active worship leaders. The workload does get very heavy at times, but I know that I have grown considerably as a musician because of the amount of work I've been handed. Though the curriculum does become very challenging, the Worship department provides regular weekly tutoring. (It has been a lifesaver for me.) I am confident that I have been given practical training in worship ministry that has made me a better worship leader.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options for off-campus dining at LU.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: The parking is pretty inconvenient on campus and people are often towed.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing at Liberty is very available.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Liberty's campus has been ranked in the Top 10 safest in the country.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The scholarships available at Liberty are very good. If you make good grades and are fairly involved it will be fairly easy to get a lot of scholarship money. There are also scholarships for athletics, upbringing, etc.

Off-Campus Dining: The food at Liberty is pretty overpriced. There are a few different places to eat on campus, but there isn't too much variety. Chick-fil-a seems to be a campus favorite. I personally enjoy the Balance in the Reber Thomas dining hall simply because it is one of the few places where you can find good vegetarian food.

Guys & Girls: There are a wide variety of students at Liberty: hipsters, jocks, country boys, and lots of homeschoolers. Being a Christian school the majority of students are Christians and that is highly emphasized. I think that it is a good blend. I believe that the student population is very good looking.

Academics: I have had both good and bad professors, but I assume it is this way at almost every college. I find registration extremely stressful. It always starts at midnight and if you do not register right away you might miss out on crucial classes. There are a wide variety of classes available and the professors are fairly helpful.

Academics: I am a student at Liberty University. I have been fairly satisfied so far. I'm a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) major with an Education license attached. I've met many instructors that have stretched the way that I think. In addition, many of the teachers are strong spiritual leaders as well. I've had classes with both small and large workloads; it all depended on the subject and teacher. I found it fairly manageable, but I also spent most of my time doing school work.

Academics: The instructors are very knowledgeable and accessible. Aviation
maintenance is a fast moving program but they do anything possible to help those that are trying to learn.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: I am an aviation maintenance student. We are off campus so I dont deal with the main campus or anyone who live on it. But the group of guys in my class are great guys with almost no exceptions. I really enjoy the dynamic of a small group of people.

Campus Dining: Overall, the food is good. As I haven't been exposed to really any other college cafeteria, I don't have much of a reference point (and, you have to admit, it's pretty hard to beat Mom's cooking). There is a large variety of food, both within the main dining hall and at other various spots around campus, and for the most part it is fresh and appetizing. I am excited that they are working on developing healthier, more allergy-sensitive menus, and while the ingredients used are not first-class, finding a meal for a health-conscious person is not an enormous challenge.
