Drug Safety: This is a Christian College and students come to this college to avoid the drugs and alcohol that are more prominate at other schools. Student come to a Christian college to avoid the peer pressure of drugs and alcohol also while getting an higher education. Don't get me wrong there are some that do drink and use drugs I am sure but it is not as prominate as it is at a secular college. My college will not tolerate any drugs or alcohol use. When graduating from this college you will leave here a better person because of their policy and the way they enforce it. One of the main rules is that all students attend Sunday church service. And they all do and I believe that this is what helps make them all a better person because of it. It gives them structure in their lives.

Health & Safety: The campus has security in place if it is needed and usually the only time it is need is if someone parks in the wrong parking space. The campus I attend is a Christian campus and there is no crime and I attend online so I definitely feel safe. The school has a special security measures in place in case of terrorist attacks or any other type of attack. The campus is a very peaceful and safe feeling campus that feels very welcoming. Liberty has been there since 1947 without incidence. They are a highly respected college.

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining has many choices for the college student today. There are many fast food restaurants and many dining restaurants. Todays younger generation like to eat at the sport Bar style restaurants like Apple Bees and their meals are very good. It is very hard to find a vegetarian or vegan style restaurant unless you go to a metropolitan City where these type of restaurants are just starting to become popular. Many students have a difficult time being able to eat out anywhere today because they are on a gluten-free diet. Many people today are finding out the they have Celiac Disease which means they can not eat any gluten containing foods which is very difficult for a college student unless they have a kitchen in their dorm or they live at home because there is only one gluten-free restaurant in the United States that recently opened. In Conclusion, For the average student off campus dining is great but, if you are a vegan or you require a gluten-free diet there are little to no choices for these people.

Diversity: It seems no matter your background that if you're willing to follow The Liberty Way (the honor code at Liberty University) that both staff and students will do their best to meet you where you are. A big surprise to me was in my first semester here, taking an evangelism class, that there were alternative topics for those who were questioning or not a Christian. This surprised me, and yet was a great revelation as well of the campus attitude. Just as Jesus invites all to follow and learn from Him, so Liberty follows that example of meeting students wherever they currently are.

Academics: I definitely think I made the right choice in choosing Liberty University. Although I am only in my first year here, I have grown so much both academically and in my relationship with and understanding of Jesus Christ. I believe this is right where God wants me to be!

Parking: As mentioned in the prior page, I don't live in Lynchburg, so I'm not privy to parking issues. I do know that there is a large shopping center near campus that might offer convenient off-campus parking, but could fill up depending on mall business/events. Campus parking seems plentiful from the map, plus the current construction projects that should make more available soon, but I can't say this for certain because of not being a residential student.

Off-Campus Housing: I'm just going by posts from other students in the college forums, as I live WAY off-campus. I'm an online student at Liberty and live on the other side of the country. Obviously, they're not going to be able to help me find housing in California.

Scholarships: The streamlined Financial Check-In process really made it easy - just answer questions in a step-by-step process and get set up for your financial aid. You can even get an advance for your books as you're filling out the questions. Best financial aid experience I've ever had.

Nightlife: I am currently enrolled through Liberty University online. I have not been to a campus myself, though I can say that the online learning experience is exceptional.

Local Atmosphere: I like Lynchburg. Wish there was more to do sometimes or at least more cheaper things to do.

Off-Campus Dining: The normal off campus restaurants nothings special.

Health & Safety: Feel safe most of the time except nights. Lots of people walking around so even if I am by myself usually someone else is out too.

Computers: I usually don't have problems but the network can be difficult work with sometimes. It can be slow, and occasionally not work.

College Freshman

Greek Life: There really is no Greek life because there are no sororities of fraternities.

Transportation: There are a lot of ways to get to where you need to go. The airport is a 5 minute drive away, and so is the train station. Also people are very willing to give you a ride to where you need to go if you are going in the same direction.

Diversity: Although the campus is mostly Christian, there are still those that do not hold to our beliefs, but people are very tolerant in many ways. We realize that some do not hold to our beliefs, and although we may disagree with them we still respect them.

Local Atmosphere: Lynchburg is a decent place, but not my city of preference. Although the campus itself is great the city dies after 10 o'clock. Also there is not a ton offered as far as things to do, in the city.
