Overall Experience: A Perfect Place to Grow – Liberty University is a wonderful school. You are surrounded by Christian principles and amazing students. Academics are very good and social life can be fun. The teachers are very accepting and willing to help. The students are very open to new friendships and have loving hearts. I felt very accepted and appreciate when I came to Liberty. My teachers have helped me advance academically and my friends have helped me grow into who I am today. Liberty is a must!

Guys & Girls: Small Town USA – Liberty University is renown for the character of its students. Students are well mannered and most share the Christian faith. Liberty students are heavily involved in community service. Both guys and girls are respectful towards each other and maintain modest appearances. Students are heavily involved in their social life and participate in fun, clean activities. Both guys and girls maintain attractive appearances. If you go on a date with a Liberty guy, you will enjoy the date with a respectful, sweet man.

Athletics: I think it's awesome that there are so many intramural sports at LU. It helps people like me who want to play sports but who are unable to make a huge commitment to practices due to a heavy workload.

Campus Strictness: In a Good Way – Liberty is apparently rated as one of the most strict universities in America, but for those who are attending Liberty for its values, the rules are generally quite intuitive. Liberty tries to alleviate temptation by setting up defined rules with established punishments if they are not followed.

Campus Dining: For Hungry College Kids, It Works – As a larger private university, Liberty does have a decent variety of options in and out of the dining hall. Of course, the (required) meal plans favoring the dining hall have the most cash value, other on-campus eateries are often more convenient. There is a great smoothie place, though, and sub connection (like Subway) is also pretty good. As a nutrition freak, it would help if they offered more whole grains, fruits, and veggies.

Academics: Great Interpersonal Relationships – All the professors that I have had the opportunity to learn under have a deep desire to get to know the students personally. Each one strives to have that personal relationship and have aided me in getting better connections in the outside world.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: I am obsessed with Liberty's computer labs, not only do they have PC's but also amazing Mac's for us to use. There are so many I have never had to wait to find one, and i'm pretty sure I still haven't seen every lab we have!

Parking: It's Bad – They are working on it, and it could be worse, but parking is an issue

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Personal Safety – Liberty University has made sure that we all feel safe when on campus with tons of security cameras, real police officers, and tons of lighting at night. Totally feel safe there.

Greek Life: I don't think we even have any frats or sororities

Athletics: Short and sweet: The Athletics at LU are great. NCAA in almost everything, more Big South wins than I can count. You want it: we got it. Football, basketball, hockey, baseball, lacross, track, swimming, golf, soccer, tennis, wrestling, cross country, softball, volleyball and more. Plus we have the only SnowFlex in the country if you like to ski/snowboard.

Weather: Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is a beautiful spot for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. There are many places to go hiking and exploring just minutes drive from the campus. It is totally worth the stay to enjoy even just minutes more of this amazing gift of nature.

Off-Campus Dining: Location, Location, Location – There are many dining options available close to the campus. If a student wishes to travel to any number of these restaurants it is simply a matter of getting down the road a few blocks. The pricing is also fair, so it is not too much of a problem for a college student on a budget.

Scholarships: On Campus Office Great, Government Not – The financial aid office was very helpful in walking me and my mother through the process step by step. They take their time and act as though you're the only customer they have to worry about. I received a fantastic financial aid package, but student loans switched from a private to government lender this year, which seemed to be more hassle than it was worth.

Campus Strictness: Strict but Fair – The campus has a zero tolerance policy for a lot of things, like drinking, drugs, sneaking out, and sex. If someone is caught, the punishments range from academic probation and a heavy fine to being kicked out of the school. Because Liberty is a Christian college, I believe the strict policies are appropriate for how each of the students not only should behave, but should want to behave on campus as well as off.

Guys & Girls: Student Life – Liberty University is incredibly diverse. We have a lot of exchange students, as well as students from all fifty states. Each female dorm is assigned a boy's dorm as their "brother dorm" to socialize with in different events throughout the year, which opens a lot of doors for friendships. My friends all have completely different interests, but we all get along extremely well because of that fact. There is a dress code, but within the limits of that, everyone expresses themselves differently, from business suits to jeans and t shirts. We have plenty of places on campus where we can all get together and have appropriate fun together, and altogether, everyone I've met gets along really well, no matter where they're from or what social group they belong to.

Off-Campus Housing: Has Its Advantages and Disadvantages – it is more affordable to live of campus but then you feel like you are not part of the college life.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: OK-Different Options – The food at the cafeteria it mostly good;there are more than one options.Plus there are other places on campus where you can use your meal points.

Drug Safety: Strong Policy Enforcement – Liberty University is a Christian college based on Christian foundation. I have yet to see or hear about anyone doing anything negative like drugs , alcohol, etc. I know that no one's perfect, but I know the entire staff takes this very seriously and makes sure that it doesn't happen to the best of their abilities. I can see how well they're doing with policy enforcement.

Campus Housing: The East Campus Is Best – The dorms at Liberty University are fine, but the East Campus apartment-type dorms are fantastic! The major problem is how expensive they are.

5 College Student

Facilities: There Are Books Galore – Liberty University has so many different books to read. On top of having a huge library, there's also a two-story Barnes & Noble on campus! This bookstore is fairly new and has a nice coffee shop inside. There is such a wide selection that it isn't difficult to find whatever you're looking for, no matter what genre.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer Labs – The computers are great and there are a numerous amount but during exam weeks its hard to find a computer to use anywhere.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Liberty has a bus system that runs on campus. If you need a ride late at night, the police department is available for escorting if necessary. Buses run for as long as facilities are open. Buses come in a timely fashion and go to every major area on campus.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Around Town – Lynchburg is a decent sized city. The college itself is 20 minutes away from downtown. This is both good and bad. Good because it keeps students away from the high crime rate areas. Bad because it isolates students from the residents of the city. Around the campus itself, there are several restaurants and a dollar movie theater within walking distance. There are some retailers in a nearby shopping center, but the largest shopping area is a Wal-Mart across a busy road from campus. There is a mall six or seven minutes down the road to drive to. As for off campus housing, most off campus opportunities require a car to get back onto campus.

5 College Junior

Academics: Liberty offers a unique experience for students. While it is a private, Christian university, it strives to offer students a large university experience. Even though it strives to be like a large university, the area that it will always exceed a large public university is in the quality of the professors. The professors will take time out of their own busy lives to invest time in the lives of their students. Professors take a genuine interest in the lives of their students and focus on helping students succeed, rather than trying to match the bell curve or seeing each student as a number.
