Academics: Liberty offers a unique experience for students. While it is a private, Christian university, it strives to offer students a large university experience. Even though it strives to be like a large university, the area that it will always exceed a large public university is in the quality of the professors. The professors will take time out of their own busy lives to invest time in the lives of their students. Professors take a genuine interest in the lives of their students and focus on helping students succeed, rather than trying to match the bell curve or seeing each student as a number.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: alumni programs for graduates.
tons of campus events.
the Liberty Way rules.
beautiful seasons.
tons of internships.
online classes are offered in addition to on campus classes which helps free up your schedule.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: On Hold – When dealing with the financial aide office at Liberty you should expect to be on hold for at least 40 minutes. Find a friend that works in the office and email them instead

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: i love liberty. the atmospherse is not like any other school. i have made amazing friends here, that i know i will have for life. sometimes the rules are frustrating because we are all adults but i understand why they are there. i feel safe at Liberty and i know i am getting an eduation unique to any other school. most students at LU can have fun without alcohol. their priorities are on their studies and wholesome fun. lots of concerts and sports events. i wouldnt trade my Lu experience for anything!

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Religious Based Education – Liberty University is based in religion and therefore the moral standards we are held accountable to are much stricter than other colleges.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Girls & Guys – alot of girls & guys from private christian schools. some are extremely sheltered & others are wild.
lots of pretty girls. i have heard that Liberty has the hottest girls in Virginia.
some hot guys. alot of collared shirts. a mix between athletes, preachers, and video game nerds.
diverse fun group.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Variety Is King – There are over 60 countries represented in our student body. There is very few negative interaction based on race solely.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The Best Around – i would rather eat off campus than on campus. even though its expensive, i get better food that last longer and does not make me feel sick afterward

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Health and Safety – the safety is very strict and the health can use some help in the cafeteria

2 College Freshman

Facilities: The Life Around Campus – the life around campus is very open and free spirit. It is however not good because they allow peers to dictate to the felllow students and belittle them and give repremands that is sometimes not fair. the student center is not a good one because it is not free spirit.....nothing really to do in the student center except play basketball. the library is outdated and small, the athletic department receives more money .

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I Don't Live on Campus – Even though I don't live on campus I know many who do. They tell me that there are annoying little things they have to deal with like curfew and hall meeting. If you live on campus you have an assigned RA who is responsible for making you follow the rules. If you don't mind doing what you're told it's good to live on campus.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I'm Not Really Sure – I still live at home so I have not had to find anywhere else to stay.

5 College Junior

Computers: Online Program – All of my classes have been outlined and communicated very well. The oversight faculty members have been very helpful

5 College Junior

Academics: BS Religion LOU – I love the online program. The classes have been challenging and full of new information.

3 College Junior

Parking: Could Improve – this school has grown exponentially. of course that has hurt our traffick situation. but it will get better.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I Love It Here – This is a religiously associated school. But I have loved every minute of it. Yes, there are rules, but the opportunities Liberty provides have allowed me to not even notice trivial mandates.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: Therefore, the bulk of illegal activity here is minimized to parking violations.

College Freshman

Greek Life: No Greeks – LU doesn't have Greeks. There are no fraternities or sororities here that I know of.

2 College Freshman

Nightlife: Here at LU drinking, smoking, and partying are not allowed. There are no clubs around campus. Curfew brings students back to campus early (12am). If you like to party, drink, or smoke, LU is not the place for you. LOTS of rules.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Overall Good Food – The food at Liberty University is overall good. The dining hall is an all you can eat buffet. If you get tired of the dining hall, LU has numerous places where students can eat great food.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Cold Winters, Warm Summers – Winters can get really cold. We're about an hour outside of Roanoke where the big blizzard hit last winter, so classes get cancelled sometimes. But every other time is great. Mid 60's to 70's most of the year. :)

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Great Sports Environment – Everyone loves to go out to all the games. Whenever there is a football game kids line the streets tailgating and having a good time. We also have a HUGE auditorium for basketball.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Only at liberty, can students go snoboarding, skiing, or tubing for free on our very own snowflex!
Also, with my experience, this school is great for those who would like to learn from a Christian perspective. They provide an excellent quality education with excellent programs, but also help to develop the spiritual well- being of the students too.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Suits Everyone's Needs – In the city, there are places to shop for every basic need. If you cross the street, there is a Walmart, a Target and other shopping stores. There are also sit-down as well as fast food restaurants.
Most of the city likes the Liberty students, but like with every university, there are a few people who are less fond of us.
On campus, there are activities constantly for the students, and many facilities which the student may use. Some of these facilities include the ice center, the snowflex, and the gym.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: This school's financial aid process is a MAJOR fail from my perspective. I had to start a semester late because I could not get financial check-in done on time for reasons that were hardly my fault-- everytime I called anyone in financial aid with a question I would get a diffrent answer from them. I never got the help I needed and I felt extremely overwhelmed and alone when attempting to apply and get everything in order.
