Campus Strictness: It's a Place to TRAIN Champions for CHRIST! Many people complain about the strictness of Liberty because of the dress codes, the required Convocations, PDA, late nights, etc and it is just absurd. When coming to the school, you should know already that it is a CHRISTIAN school and it is more strict because of that. I absolutely love the rules because LU trains Christ followers the Jesus way so that we may go out into the world and be an example.

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus – Lynchburg is quite a small town but there are great places to go to, one being the convenient WalMart, Target, etc. However, the bus schedule to off campus only runs on Fridays and Saturdays and sometimes I wish I had a car instead so I could go during the week.

Academics: Elementary Education: Spanish – At Liberty University, the education program is wonderful because the professors are quite knowledgeable and teach with a Biblical perspective. Also, I love all of the classes that I must take in order to graduate, including the Spanish classes, and I like that all students are required to take some Bible classes! It's great that Liberty wants us to be champions for Christ as we study for our career life.

Overall Experience: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Liberty University so far. The people are extremely friendly and supportive. The Student Activities group organizes things such as hiking and white water rafting to free Friday night movies. Sports events are also very enjoyable and a great place to hang out with friends. Liberty is a very Christian and Bible based university that is the perfect fit for me.

Drug Safety: Safe and Drug Free – Liberty University has a very strict no drug and alcohol policy which makes it much less stressful to have to worry about being pressured into taking drugs or drinking alcohol.

Nightlife: As far as I know Liberty gives its students many options to do for every single weekend so that they don't feel tempted to go party. Other than going to Division 1 football, basketball, baseball, hockey (and like fifteen other D1) games, there's also skiing, snowboarding, music facilities to jam out in, clubs, and social affiliations/networks to be apart of. Apart from campus activities, the city of Lynchburg is a fair city for almost any kind of entertainment: shopping, food, bars, clubs, parks, etc.

Diversity: There are mainly White people on campus. There are, however, definitely many Black people as well. Other races fall below the majority lines. Acceptance to the University is a fairly easy process if I'm not mistaken. Forgive me, but I am just now in the process of being accepted (hopefully;)) because Liberty is the school I intend to go to next fall (2011). I am currently at the Ohio State University Marion campus. Anyway, there Liberty is a Baptist based Christian College so I am sure that has some part of the acceptance program. Therefore, challenges regarding religion is not a huge deal, the campus follows strict Christian practices to strengthen the students' faith throughout their college experience. Liberty University started out as a small school not holding 3,000 students, but now consists of 12,000 and is growing. It is a coeducation school and has many activities to do!

Scholarships: i received hardly any financial aid, i think more scholarships should be offered at our school considering the high cost of tuition.

Guys & Girls: Student Culture – the hills in virginia make skateboarding ideal so lots of kids skate board and long board, the dress code requires clean-cut and modest dress so most students dress accordingly. dating is extremely encouraged by faculty and administration on campus. a lot of upper classmen move off campus. 1 out of every 3 cars is a pick up truck. everyone has a different accent. you can meet people from all over the world every day.

Scholarships: Very Hard If Considered Under Your Parents Dependency – You are basically limited to taking 2 classes if you have no parental support. Its very hard to get any financial support

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I ws able to get a nice amount from the school and able to only pay less than half of my tuition.

Off-Campus Dining: There are alot of places to eat at. Fast food places are always near and never too far away. Also some great dine in places to go to as well

Local Atmosphere: Not Much to Do – There really is not much to do in the city of lynchburg. You have to travel a nice drive away to find somewhere to go. Also most of the places close pretty early.

Facilities: The World's Most Exciting University! Liberty University may be a Chrisitan university, but that doesn't mean that we don't know how to have fun. There are so many activites going everyweek. It's never a boring weekend when i'm at school. Student activites always has stuff going on and we, as a student body, are always gathering together for something. So, yeah, you could say Liberty University IS the world's most exciting university!

Transportation: Bus Route - All the Way! Liberty University has this awesome bus route system. Since North Campus, Main Campus, East Campus, and South Campus are all pretty spread out [it would take the average person 5-10 minutes to walk to one from the other] we have buses that go to all. It's HIGHLY convenient for students, especially since our ID's act as our 'bus fare', and we don't have to pay anything. Of course, students bring their bikes and skateboards, and cars. However, cars are nice only if you have to go off campus alot. Also, if you need late night transportation [since the buses don't run very late] you can call the campus police, and they'll escort you to wherever you need to go.

Greek Life: It's All Greek to Me – Sorority and Frat life really are not big at Liberty University. I know of two sororities TOTAL: one's a step team and the other is a branch of the Education program. I like it this way, because it gives Liberty students a chance to focus on other things, besides labels.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is amazing. We have the Hill, the Circle, South Campus and East Campus. We're all pretty spread out, but amongst the separate dorm communities, everyone gets along pretty well. The Hill, in my opinion, is the best place to live, because you right in the middle of main campus, so you're always at the epicenter of the action. East campus is the worst place to live, to me, because they're across the road, and they have to take the bus to get anywhere. Even though they're apartment-style living, I wouldn't want to live all the way across the road. The social atmosphere in all of the dorm communities are tight and fun - everyone knows each other and does stuff together.

Parking: We Are Getting More – There is a decent amount of parking, we could really use more cause we have 12,000 residential students but there is always enough parking close to your destination unless there is a major event going on on campus, then you leave early or walk.

Weather: Rainy days can sometime be hetic. Especially if its cold outside. If you have heavy books to carry and a coat on, its hard to get to each building while trying to hold the umbrella at the same time.

Athletics: School Spirit – Students at Liberty show great school spirit for the school and student athletes. Not only do you see school spirit on campus, but you see it off campus as well.

Health & Safety: Safety and Security – Liberty University provides a very safe and welcoming community towards its students and staff. Everyone is friendly and there isn't much if any crime on campus. You never hear of any type of campus crimes. Liberty is a very strict campus.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There Is Generally a Computer Available – The computer labs are very nice, and usually open. The WiFi works most of the time, however sometimes it can get slow because of how many people are using them. I enjoy the freedom of having your own computer, however if you did not have your own the computer labs would work nicely.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on Liberty's campus. Everywhere is well lit and the security (LUPD) seems competent. Provided that you use common sense, it is easy to feel safe at Liberty.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Very Ethnic – There are people from all over the world going to Liberty. Aside from your whites, the second most common groups of people are Korean or Mexican.

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Really Good – If you live on Campus, you're awarded with a meal plan that includes weekly meal-swipes and meal points (dollars) which last all semester. The main dining hall has a ton of different foods to offer and they change almost daily (You use your swipes here). There's also plenty of local restaurants that accept meal points, which is really convenient if you want a milkshake or just plain don't want to eat in the dining hall.
