Transportation: There are buses running at all times that are free for students although sometimes waiting for a bus to show up at the stops can take a long time. On the other hand the buses during class hours are usually convenient and don't take too long. Long-distance transportation as well as off-campus transportation is unavaiable. And, walking is usually the best option for getting anywhere quickly.

Drug Safety: Not Really an Issue – Since Liberty is a Christian University a lot of students have good values and aren't interested in drugs or alcohol. The small amount of students that chose to do so are dealt with by RA's or other administration and it is not an issue for students that are not interested in getting involved.

Campus Dining: Ok but Repetitive – Overall there is a lot of dining options at Liberty University. Although the actual dining hall got a little old after my first semester on campus, I'll still go there every now and then because there are a lot of options. Also other places on campus such as the diner and bistro and sub connection are also nice to have because they take swipes as well as the dining hall.

College Junior

Greek Life: Sorry don't know of any of that sort of thing here.

Guys & Girls: High Class People – Everyone here acts and dresses respectably. The Ladies are attractive but are to be treated with respect. You will find people from all walks of life.

Local Atmosphere: Nice but Limited – Lynchburg is a reasonable size for a city, but is laid out unusually. However for the college student there is easy access to anything one might need. In most locations the students are welcomed. Over all very good.

Campus Strictness: Super Strict – I love how strict Liberty is; i wish they were a little more strict to be honest.

2 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drug Scene – Although LU tries to catch everyone who does or has drugs, they don't. They need to do a better job.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: There is no tolerance for failure. Staff are available for every student for every issue. It is a big support group with options for success.

College Junior

Overall Experience: Not Available – I am an online student and I love the professors and the school

College Junior

Athletics: Not Available – I am an online student, so I am not acquainted with the athletics

Scholarships: My school gives a lot of money to students, but it still is a private school and expensive and I think they should lower the tuition by at least 5,000 to 7,000 dollars a year.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Usually the on campus buses run until around 12 in the morning. there are also a bus that will take students to Wal-mart and other places to shop.

Drug Safety: I have never seen alcohol on campus or any type of drug because they are not allowed. I have heard of one or two cases where there was some drinking going on, but I did not personally see it.

2 College Senior

Drug Safety: Liberty is known for it's evangelical stance and curriculum, but out of 10,000-15,000 students, many of them dont fit the LU disciple mold. The drug and alcohol scene around LU isn't the most prevalent as compared with other major universities. But the LU counter-culture is a tight knit group and once part of that group the parties and availability of these things grows exponentially.

Campus Housing: Liberty University is an excessively religious masquerade that spreads throughout the entire city of Lynchburg. There are few bars and/or clubs because thats against the "Liberty Way". The legalism is taken to an extreme and all the while they pride themselves on non-judgementalism and spirituality, claiming to be non-religious. It will make one sick after a few years. When one finally decides that this is not the place for them, it is too late. Credits will transfer to very few schools so most people are faced with the decision to tough it out a few more years or drop out.

Parking: There is not enough parking yet.. and you are more than likely to get towed at least once while living on campus.

College Junior

Nightlife: The nightlife is non-existent things close at anywhere from 9-11

Guys & Girls: Guys Vs. Girls – Because this is a Christian Universiy, there is a dress code so for the most part modesty is a requirement; however apparently a few years back Playboy came to the school and ranked the school as the 2nd hottest college girls in the nation. There is plenty of diversity here, so most of the time you can find a good group of friends to hang out with. Guys and girls interact all the time, however there are rules not allowing the opposite sex in each others dorms, kissing on campus, or behaving inappropriately anywhere around each other. All in all, the relationships between guys and girls is very healthy and even though many people don't like the rules, you find ways to get used to them and have fun regardless

Campus Housing: Campus Life – Because Liberty's a private University, the cost is up there, but in comparison to other private colleges it is very manageable. Plenty of scholarships are available if you look for them, allowing you to then pick the best dorms that fit your style. The atmosphere is great here and If you want to have a good time, the option is there. There is always things to do including even going to the world's only outdoor snowflex that you can ski on in the summer! Around the holiday season the campus is always alive and active and many unique activities like talent shows and sporting events are available to participate in or watch. All in all, Liberty has a great campus life and I would strongly people to consider it when looking for a college.

Campus Dining: Dining has significantly improved recently with more than just 2 or 3 options to use meal swipes. Doc's, bistro, and sub connection are all excellent alternatives to the main Reber Thomas Dining Hall(aka: the ROT). I currently have a 14 meals a week swipe plan with 50 meal points and $200 flames cash which is $250 flex dollars altogether. Flames cash is great because we can then go to outside restaurants off campus and use the money we already paid for by coming to Liberty. The one thing I wish they would change is that they allow us to use our swipes in whatever way we wish. Currently they allow only one swipe per meal which by the end of the week makes for a lot of wasted swipes sometimes. All in all, Liberty's campus has great diversity in meals and if you want to have a good meal, you can usually find one.

Parking: I don't own a car so its not a problem for me, but I heard lots of storys and know a lot of people (and even professors) who are having problems! The school is trying to deal with it but it is still a big problem. There is towing for people parking in the wrong areas and I know its just a big hassle.

Guys & Girls: Guys and Girls – At Liberty University we have a dress code. Not everyone follows and its not the strictest in the world. Most girl actually seem to dress up according to their own tastes while others just wear jeans and a t-shirt. Most people look neat and tidy but everyone has their own style. There are a lot of attractive and not so attractive people here. Its just according to the preference. There are people from everywhere so its a variety!

Off-Campus Dining: Fast Food and Resturants – Liberty University has a lot of restaurants and fast food places that are close to the campus, so off campus students can just drive (or even walk sometimes) to a restaurant like Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, Buffalo Wild Wings ect. We are also in walking distance of Sonic, Chic-Fil-A, and McDonald's.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: We have a dress code and code of conduct that some students consider restrictive, but in view of this being a Christian school, I do not think is especially harsh. It includes policies on hair dyeing, piercings, and tattoos. Drinking, drug use, and partying are strictly punished. You will get caught, this is a tight community. PDA is officially limited to holding hands but lots of couples are seen with arms around each other etc. but NOT kissing. Also, students are officially limited to PG-13 and below movies. Overall, the school is trying to encourage students to exemplify a Christ-like atmosphere and community.
