Athletics: Our Sports Are Awesome! For football, I must say as a member of the marching band is the highlight of our fall! 3 of our players this year will be drafted by the NFL, and our players are as dedicated as it gets when looking at their practice all year long! Hockey is a lot of fun to watch, AND our's is cleaner than most. This past semester I've been at almost every basketball game so we just have great seasons!

Campus Dining: Liberty has really good dining so I would definitely support getting a meal plan. Otherwise you have to pay two taxes, and everything can be on the pricey side. However, depending on what eatery you go to, prices will be more or less. We have a good amount of different places to pick from, and if you are not satisfied with that Liberty has something called " Flames Cash" for participating local restaurants which is basically nontaxable money that you can use, like meal points but for outside eating places. With where our school's located, there is no way you could go hungry.

Computers: There are plenty of computers in the labs and the printing system works great but as far as personal computers on the wireless network it could be faster.

Facilities: Student Activities – The campus offers lots of activities. They have an indoor soccer facility, basketball gym, workout gym, an artificial ski mountain (the Snowflex), a lake that Liberty students can use. They have sand volleyball courts. There is also a place called The Tilley that students can go study, hangout and watch TV. There is also a small food and coffee section in there.

Diversity: The diversity is adequate for a Christian University

Scholarships: Good Number, but More Would Be Nice – All students are provided a substantial number of scholarships for the average student. They provide a good variety of different types of scholarships. Because of the high cost of the school, it would be really beneficial to students, like myself, who struggle financially to have more opportunities and more help from the financial aid office in attaining scholarships.

Overall Experience: Amazing Experience – Liberty has been a wonderful school to attend and provides a great, safe environment for me to be educated in. Staff and fellow students truly care about all aspects of my life: they care about my academics, social life, and spiritual life. They always provide new and exciting things to do during the week and on the weekend.

Guys & Girls: All Different, All Accepted – The students in the past couple years have become increasingly diverse. Liberty has made a point to accept students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, denominations, and even from countries around the world. There are still areas of campus with the remnants from when Liberty was primarily and all-white, Baptist school, but the school has widened it's reach and now Liberty is starting to look the way I believe god intends us all to be: accepting and even rejoicing in the differences of people.

Local Atmosphere: Looks Like a Lot of Fun! I attend Liberty University Online, but on the Web Site it looks like they do a lot of really cool things at the campus.

Campus Housing: Living on Campus – There's really not a best/worst location-wise because it depends on the individual. Everywhere is convenient since we have buses running almost all the time. East campus is the most expensive but very worth it. East is apartment style housing and very comfortable. The Hotel ("Annex") is satellite housing off campus but very close by. The Quads on South campus are nice - a balance between east and the circle/hill/33 dorms. Everyone has a choice where they want to live. My favorite place is East.

Campus Dining: We have pretty good dining services. My favorite places to go are Chick-Fil-A in the food court and Doc's Diner on east. We have a lot of options available to choose from. The food is kind of expensive, but if you don't waste your meal points & Flames Cash, you should be okay. We can use our Flames Cash at certain restaurants off campus.

Academics: The Psychology undergrad program at Liberty is great. We have teachers who actually know what they're talking about and don't proselytize even though this is a Christian school. The Psych Office is nice and inviting. I spend a lot of my time hanging out in there. We have opportunities to hear from professionals in class and through Psych Activities. Our internship class puts us out in the community working in agencies that will help prepare us for "the real world" after college. Some of the teachers send students out in the community to do job shadows and community observations. The teachers care about the students and are very willing to help the students succeed in life. I love the Psych Department and my teachers!

Weather: Lots of Rain! Lynchburg is known as "Drenchburg." It rains a lot here, but when the weather gets closer to spring and summer it's not too bad. The only problem with the weather on campus is when it snows. Liberty is very hilly so getting up some hills can be tricky at times.

Off-Campus Housing: Many Apartments to Choose from! Lynchburg may be somewhat of a small town, but the variety of apartment choices amazed me. They range in prices but most are very well kept and reliable. Most are either on the bus route or very close to campus.

Campus Strictness: Punishments Are Not Severe Enough – While alcoholic consumption, drug use, and watching certain movies are prohibited by the Liberty Way policy book, students often do it anyway. There is little response to reports of student drinking and wild parties. While some would call the rules strict, I think LU isn't strict enouch in enforcing them.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: A Plethora of Possibilities – Liberty University has many student facilities. The Tilley Center is a place where students can hang out and enjoy music, food, and games. LU provides at least five indoor basketball courts, and indoor track, an indoor soccer field, indoor ice rink, and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, LU has an artificial ski slope for year-round skiing and snowboarding

4 College Sophomore

Computers: There are over 800 computers on Liberty University's campus. I always find an available computer in the mornings. I hear the afternoons are a bit crowded, but 2/3 of the student body have their own laptops. With 100% WiFi access, laptops are a very convenient alternative

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: An Abundance of Buses – One of the most convenient features of Liberty University's transportation system is the abundance of available buses to take you to the other side of campus or the other side of town.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: A Secure Environment – Liberty University is a safe campus. The police routinely make their rounds, and I feel free to enjoy the experiences of college life to the fullest. Campus police are conveniently located and are eager to help with any questions or concerns

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Liberty has a curfew and very strict rules about partying and such. There is not a "party scene" there but there is a lot of fun things to do at night.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports Are Great – At LU everyone is a fan of the sports and the teams are all competitve and fun to watch.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Close Off Campus Resteraunts – At LU, the resteraunts are all very close to the campus and don't take long to go to at all.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is average. Sometimes you are able to find parking. But Liberty is a big school and you may have to hunt for one that is not too close to your destination.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: It is difficult to find good off campus housing. My experience has been to look for an apartment that is not associated with the school but that is close to it.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: It is not encouraged for male and female students to remain in the same room past certain hours of the day.
