Campus Dining: The Rot Gets Old – Food around campus is alright, not all that good, but not terrible either. It's pretty useless to get more than 10 swipes a week for the Rot, unless someone wanted to use those to get a flatbread at the Bistro or a sandwich at Sub Connection, which are both really delicious places. The main dining hall, the Reber-Thomas (or the Rot), has good options for food a lot of the time, but sometimes it can be quite tasty. Usually though, especially after freshman year, the Rot gets old so one would want money to spend at other places on campus. The main downside to campus food is that everything is so expensive and usually the lines are insane.

Weather: Online Classes – Many of my classes are online, so the weather does not effect me. However the snow is an issue in the winter, but classes in this area are hardly ever cancelled at this university or other colleges in the area. I have lived here for years, so I am used to it.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Adult Student – This is a area where I am not involved. a lot of these questions do not apply to my age group

Off-Campus Housing: Live at Home – Not sure how to answer this question because I dont have to find off campus housing. I own my own home

5 College Student

Campus Housing: Comfortable and Convenient. Life on campus feels and is very safe. Fellow students are usually all incredibly polite and considerate. The campus grounds are beautiful and not difficult to navigate. For farther areas there is campus transportation, but I myself enjoy walking the campus whenever I have the chance.

Off-Campus Dining: Many Appealing Options – I myself have not yet had the chance to dine off campus, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so. There are plenty of places around the campus that seem to serve good food at equally good prices.

Campus Dining: Varied and Well-Prepared – The Dining hall serves a vast array of different food based on style or culture. I've had almost all different types but not all the plates themselves, and I was very satisfied with each of my meals.

Scholarships: Simple a Self Explanatory – I was very satisfied with the walk through of the process

Parking: Cars on Campus – Many students do have cars on campus, which facilitate off campus jobs. Parking is adequate, but you may have to hike to get from parking into classrooms.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs Are Not Tolerated – Liberty University is a Christian university with a very strict policy against drug use of any kind on campus. On campus usage can result in expulsion.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There is a lot to do on campus, and since I don't have a car, off campus activities are not an option this year. The university has a huge student center, snow plex, ice center, and nationally known speakers visit on a weekly basis.

College Junior

Transportation: I'm Online – I am an online student and don't use these services.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The students I have encountered at Liberty are from a variety of different denominations. While it is true that Liberty has a Southern Baptist majority, there is great encouragement for those students who are not. I have also encountered great ethnic diversity with students from all over world.

College Junior

Campus Housing: Question Isn't Relevant – I am one of the 50,000+ online students at Liberty University and can't really comment on living on campus.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: LU does all they can to help students out. That's the only reason I was able to go. LU provides many different departments to help w/financial aid (financial aid, student accounts, etc).

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: LU has city, country, hipsters, etc guys and girls. Plenty of southerners since LU is in VA. For someone not from the south it takes a minute to get used to it.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Come as You Are – There is a lot of diversity at LU. We have students from all around the U.S and from many different countries. Each semester we dedicate a few weeks to celebrate the diversity. Having people from all over makes LU so much better.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: NO DRUGS ALLOWED – Liberty is a drug and alcohol free campus! Drugs are NOT tolerated and possession is grounds for immediate dismissal. Liberty's strict policy against drugs and alcohol plus their strict housing policy is one of the things that attracted me to the school.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I do not have knowledge of off-campus housing. This is my first year at Liberty and I live on-campus as do my friends here.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Verty Safe! I consider this a very safe college environment. I have not had any personal experiences involving a crime and have no knowledge of any crimes within my dorm, hall, or even campus-wide. The presence of the Campus Police is very evident. The shuttles run until late at night for added safety, but I have also walked across campus at night and felt very safe.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Application Process Made Easy – The financial aid department at Liberty University is very helpful. I have received several phone calls from them offering to help with the application process or anything else I might need. I am still working on filling out the paperwork and applying for scholarships, but so far things are going smoothly. The only thing I was disappointed with is they were not helpful with advising me what scholarships to apply for. I have had to do that research on my own.

Overall Experience: Liberty is a great school. The people are generally nice and helpful (students and faculty). Great school for outdoors people. Liberty owns their own mountain with miles of trails. There is a year round artificial ski slope (free to students). Though liberty does have many top performing academic institutions (debate, quiz bowl, school of nursing), they also have many students who don't take academics seriously due to the high acceptance rate.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol – The drug/alcohol scene is next to non-existent. Peer pressure will push you away from substance abuse. Students are technically not supposed to consume alcohol.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is readily available, but taking this option will probably leave you feelling disconnected. The way Liberty University is positioned, an on campus student really doesn't need to leave campus. There is a walmart, dollar theater, ice cream/ coffee shops etc. all right across the street. If you are looking for an apartment, try living on campus east for a semester first.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Helms School of Government – The government school at Liberty University is great. I feel like most of my upper level classes are growing my understanding of the area of study rather than simply checking off a requirement for graduation. Professors are diverse in their approach, the programs are always growing, and there are internship opportunities. A program that has been promoted around campus is semester in DC. This is where one of your semesters can be taken while you are an intern in DC. P.S. the Helms School just got a sweet new location on campus.
