Academics: I love the music program at Liberty. The classes are excellent and taught by wonderful professors who truly care for the students. I have grown so much already there. The practice time is a big commitment but any music major knows this when they choose this major. The facilities are a little outdated but they are currently beginning construction on a new music building!

Weather: It is kind of unpredictable but there are alot of beautiful days

Off-Campus Dining: There are mostly chain restaurants directly outside of campus but I know that downtown and historical lynchburg are more diverse in cuisine

4 College Senior

Diversity: There is a lot of racial/ethnic diversity with students from literally all over the world. Economically, there is quite a bit of diversity, though since it is a private school, many students are at least middle class or higher. As far as religion, the school is not diverse because it is a private Christian school, so most of the students are Christians with a conservative background politically as well.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There is really no much diversity but its a good environment

Health & Safety: It's a open campus but you always see police officers around. It has been pretty safe so far.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Liberty's transportanion is really good. They even take you to the airport or train station if you want to.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking at Liberty University is not a problem. Its the people who are just so lazy that they can't seem to take a nice 2-5 minute walk to class.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: NCAA Athletics at Liberty University are OK. What really makes the games are the fans! We come wild and crazy dressed up in the craziest costumes I've ever seen and go nuts. As far as team performance goes, It is not satisfactory especially with Men's Basketball. Our football program on the other hand is fantastic. Its actually the most anticipated sport all year.

Majors: Completing an application and providing all transcripts are required. I personally did not have any difficulties. Making sure all documents are sent on time so that you can enroll in the semester of choice would be very important. I did not have any abnormal application process. I recommend researching a year or so in advance of the type of school and program that interest you is the best tip.

Majors: A typical internship is like a regular job with all the responsibilities however, in my case I do not get paid. I enjoy working teenage girls and learning from everyone. I mostly enjoy coming up lesson plans for group sessions.

Majors: I am very happy with my program because it is tailored for me to learn at a pace so that I work and take care of my family. If I had to start over and pick another school or a specific degree, I would pick Liberty and the same program.

My career goals is to obtain my Ph.D in Education while I continue to work on obtaining my licensure in counseling. My concerns about finding work in my field that would pay enough to help me maintain my home and support my family.

Majors: Being in a specific program is very rewarding because I get to focus directly on what I enjoy. I enjoy it so much because there are a lot of courses that I do not have an interest in and this type of program helps me to feel much better and prepared. The unique aspects of my program is that it has Christian Worldview added to every course and not to mentioned there are so many support staff members as well as professors.

Facilities: There is always something to do, and if there isn't you can hang out with friends at the Tilly. At the Tilly you can play pool or ping pong or check out multiple fun board games and stuff. During CFAWS there are concerts and there are always athletic events and games to go to.

3 College Freshman

Majors: There could be a greater influx of majors, that could be added to the university.

5 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is generally very consistent and warm throughout the year. It is also in accordance with the beautiful mountainous region.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Our school is very clean because of the very strict guidelines and security checks. Therefore, drug related events are very rare. We also have a very strong implication of spiritual beliefs.

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere of Lynchburg is average—nothing too exciting. The area attractions are minimal at best. Lynchburg excels in places to eat, however. They are everywhere, especially on Wards Rd., the road that the backside of Liberty is on. The surrounding area of Liberty has its safe parts, but also its more dangerous parts. So, there are areas of Lynchburg that one should not peruse.

Weather: I am from Michigan, and the heat here in Virginia is more uncomfortable for me than other people. So, that’s why I gave this rating a “C.” I personally would like Fall weather year-round. The heat extends into autumn months to where I become annoyed with the heat and the bright sunshine. LU does not have any control the whether, however, so this aspect should not be of utmost importance for you. It is a subjective answer, too.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The safety and security on campus are excellent. LU provides a crime report after each semester that lists the most recent semesters crimes. They are extremely low, comparatively. A sense of personal safety is felt at all times on campus, but this point is subjective, since I am not a female. There are people around most of the time wherever a student is, which keeps the crime rate low, too.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Generally, the computers at LU are good. Sometimes, when you are logging in, it can take a couple minutes for it load everything up and for the desktop to appear. A student should have his or her own laptop, however, but the LU computers are where you need to print things out since your laptop most likely will not be connected to a printer.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I transferred to LU because of the courses offered by the Center for Judaic Studies and for the theologian who teaches the courses. The academics for these courses are highly recommended, since there are not many schools in the USA who offer courses in Judaic studies from a Christian perspective.
The overall academics at LU are great, though. Many of the teachers are challenging, which is good, because these are the teachers you want who will stretch your intellect and thus, become a strong person.

5 College Senior

Majors: This isn't really a topic I am able to discuss. I am re-entering the school for a second time and start in January. Give me 6 months :)

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The students interaction off campus is different than almost any other college. The strict guidelines set by the school based on biblical beliefs and students efforts to live a god pleasing life limit the off campus activities.
Lynchburg is a beautiful area with a rich heritage.

5 College Senior

Scholarships: I'm using my VA benefits (Montgomery G.I. Bill) so my financial aid is covered. That being said the school has a really helpful website which guides you through the financial aid process. It starts with FAFSA and then when completed it will direct you to the schools financial aid process.
