College Sophomore

Diversity: I am an online student and my online class is very diverse. We have discussion boards online and everyone is very friendly with one another. No one is discriminated against when it comes to color, nationality, or religious beliefs.

Nightlife: I give nightlife an A- because there is no partying on campus which in my opinion is a good thing. Even those who are 21 and over are not allowed to drink on or off campus. Obviously, not everyone has the same views or beliefs so there are the occasional off campus parties. However, there are major penalties by the school if you get caught.

Diversity: We are very diverse in culture and ethnicity and sex. However when it comes to political beliefs and religion, we're all pretty much on the same page.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to eating off campus. From classy to fast food and reasonable prices. Many of the restaurant chains accept Flames Cash, which you have $200 of on your card.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: From an online experience each member of the faculty, as well as, students have been helpful, interactive, and supportive of each other.

College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I am located in Greensboro, NC, but from all I have read and seen via electronic devises the atmosphere is superior! I can't wait for the opportunity to visit the campus for graduation.

Scholarships: I haven't received any information regarding additional scholarship opportunities and I am in desperate need (as a single-parent, f/t working / college student) I need to find additional help with making my educational process completely possible. I am not a residential student which makes the entire process a bit more taxing; I am the one responsible for finding the grants and scholarships needed.

Parking: Parking is pretty jammed and it is often difficult to find a good spot. You have to park at a specific location depending on where you live on campus and if you don't park there then you get towed and then pay about 100 dollars to get your vehicle back. They are currently working on parking issues so that things aren't so crowded.

Campus Strictness: The rules on campus are strictly enforced but they are not difficult rules to follow.

Academics: All staff are extremely helpful and informative. The courses are thorough and diverse. And a true sense of accomplishment is found upon the completion of each assignment.

Campus Dining: So much diversity and options. Could never get board.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I'm a music major. I'm only a freshman, and haven't taken most of the classes specifically geared toward my major (music theory, aural skills, etc.), I'm taking mostly general ed courses. But I've spoken to professors I will be taking eventually and they are great, I can't wait to get started. Also, I have to take private lessons and be in any ensemble every semester, which is fun!

Scholarships: I had to call the University many, many times to figure out how to get my financial aid so I could finish "Financial Check-In" and be assigned to a room. So that was kind of a hassle. However, admissions counselors also called me lots of times to inform me of different scholarships and grants and other awards that I can easily get and they informed me a lot about how to get them. I got a TON of financial aid, which made it possible for me to come to Liberty University, but it was worth it. You just have to put the time and effort into looking for scholarships and grants and stay in touch with your financial aid office.

Campus Housing: There are a multiple of dorms you can chose from at Liberty University. There are dorms right in the middle of campus (Main Campus), making it close and easy to get to all of your classes (good pick for freshmen). However, those dorms usually have 3 people per room and it can get pretty crowded. There are dorms further away (South Campus), but you can easily take the bus anywhere on campus and the dorms are bigger with less people per room (usually 2). There is also the Residential Annex, which is technically off-campus, but you can take a bus onto campus. The Residential Annex is a hotel (the school bought it), there are 2 people per room and you get your own bathroom. Finally, there is East Campus which is usually a good pick for upperclassmen. It is apartment-style living, but it's more expensive. I personally love my dorm! I live on South Campus. There is plenty of room - only 2 people - and there is a bus that usually runs every 5-15 minutes and I can get anywhere I need to on campus.

Facilities: There are many places for students to hang out on campus. The Tilley Center is a great place to have lunch (that's where the Chick-Fil-A is!) and hang with friends.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Apartment complexes are close to campus and convenient to shopping, if you can get in.

4 College Junior

Academics: I transferred to Liberty, and I certainly don't regret it! The classes are challenging (although this depends largely on your degree, and how much you apply yourself), and the professors are amazing. I've never had a major problem with a professor, and I haven't heard of any 'problem teachers'

5 College Senior

Majors: I love the major I picked and feel I am learning a lot. I feel very prepaired for my future!

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There are so many different people that are very fun and friendly.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: I feel Liberty has high standards that they stick to and some students may not like it, but most of us do appreciate it.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: You will find a diverse group of both guys and girls at Liberty University from all over the world as it is a large school. The school does have a dress code which requires modest clothing on campus but many students have led a sheltered life and can't wait to get off campus and remove their clothes. In other words, many students here are very promiscuous!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many off campus housing options available in the Lynchburg area. Many of these options are apartment complexes although there are also numerous private homes rented out by their owners. Parking is never an issue in the area and my experience with landlords has been completely positive.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It rarely snows in Lynchburg. The weather is rather mild so classes are not cancelled very often.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am extremely happy with my program. As a nursing major, I will pretty much always have a job, especially since I am getting a BSN. There are plenty of opportunities to move up in my field. I can go on and get a Masters or Doctorate degree, or I can work to receive other certifications and specializations. Any nursing program is difficult. It takes a lot of time, effort, and lack of sleep, but I would definitely do it again!

4 College Junior

Majors: I personally do not have an internship, but as nursing students we do hundreds of clinical hours in the hospital. This is unpaid work obviously, but if you work hard and leave a good impression on the hospital staff, many times it will lead to a job offer once you graduate.
