College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't actually started my classes yet, but I'm very happy with the registration process. Even the financial aid process has been very smooth for me. I heard lots of negative stories about Financial Aid but haven't experienced anything negative yet.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I am very satisfied with the financial assistance I receive here. You can always meet with a financial aid representative if you have questions or a special need.

4 College Junior

Weather: Still warm here and it's November! From what I hear, winter is usually mild, with occasional snow.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: So many dining choices throughout the campus that you can utilize your meal points for besides the dining hall which in itself has lots of varieties of food.

Facilities: All of my friends that have gone to Liberty have loved being involved on campus. They have nothing but good things to say.

Facilities: As of yet I have not started classes but applying to Liberty University has been very easy. Whenever I had any questions about what I needed to do next the admissions office has been very helpful.

Majors: My desired program is unique because I was looking for an online Psychology program at an accredited institution that also had Religious and Biblical Studies. Liberty University met those needs so then the work became acceptance into the program. I found the process very easy and all of the Liberty staff, from Financial Aid, to Administration, etc. very helpful. They returned phone calls and emails and answered all of my questions; of which there were many. All of my needs have been met and now I can proudly say I'm a Liberty Flame!

College Student

Majors: I will be required to do 120 hours of internship for my major but the beautiful thing about Liberty University is I can do my internship where I reside; which is out of state since I'm an online student.

4 College Student

Academics: As an online student I create my own study atmosphere, but I see on Liberty's website that study facilities are sufficient and adequate for resident students.

5 College Student

Facilities: A very unique quality of Liberty University is it offers online education so it can reach students all around the world.

College Student

Athletics: Being an online student I do not participate in any of the sports, but I can keep up with them with the really great Liberty Today app. Every student should have the app, whether you are a resident student, or an online one.

Campus Dining: I am an online student so I do not use any of the on-campus facilities

Academics: I think it's great that Liberty University has a wide selection of academic programs

Campus Strictness: Liberty University is founded on Christian and moral values so things that would normally happen at secular schools will not be tolerated at this school. "The Liberty Way" addresses the school's belief from dress code to honor code. Although there are rules in place at the school everyone should govern themselves accordingly based on their Christian beliefs. I believe that this school is defeinitely separating itself from the norm of secular schools. I can sum up "The Liberty Way" in one phrase and that is "to be professional at all times."

Transportation: Liberty University provides on campus transportation that is also available late at night. They are always on time, friendly, and courteous. They also provide shuttle services for those students who are attending the university online but visit the campus for intensives. They pick up at all of the hotels near the campus. All shuttle and bus services are free. For those who can afford to fly on a chartered flight, Liberty University has it own airport for private jets.

Off-Campus Dining: All of the dining facilities that are off campus offer great discounts for Liberty University students. Even if do not have any money on hand to spend there are many restaurants that accept the Liberty Flames passes which charges your student account for the purchase. There are a variety of places like ColdStone, Domino's, Sheetz, Sundae Grill, Honeybaked Ham, Shangai Express, Texas Roadhouse, Wendy's, Little Caesar's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Smoothie King, etc.

Weather: Weather is usually pretty good. make sure you have a good umbrella! Sometimes during the winter it snows so be prepared for that as well.

4 College Junior

Academics: I'm a Biology major with a concentration in Environmental Science. The thing I love most about it is that we have a small, friendly science department. I've been able to get to know most of my professors on a reasonably personal level and as a result, do better in my studies. There are, of course, downsides to the department being small--the facilities aren't quite as up to date as they might be--but I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Drug Safety: Liberty has a "take no prisoners" attitude toward partying and drug use--it's simply not tolerated. As part of the Christian faith, Liberty upholds a Biblical standard that warns us against that type of living. If you're looking for accountability, you'll certainly find it here. While there is certainly access to these things--I'm not naive, I don't think there's any school on the planet that keeps all of this out--the desire is to protect individuals and keep them out of the drug scene entirely.

Academics: Liberty University is one of the most academically strong Christian schools in the United States--possibly in the world. Both faculty and students strive for excellence in preparation for life beyond college and in the learning itself. Liberty also offers variety in programs of study with (for the most part) fantastic professors. I've yet to come across any teachers who were unhelpful when I approached them.

Campus Housing: I happen to live in an apartment style dorm, and I love it. We have three rooms attached to a common area with a kitchen and limited living space. Blessedly, each room has its own bathroom. There are seven students altogether. It's a nice alternative to the traditional dorm hall for someone like me who enjoys a little more privacy and the option of semi-solitude. I find it especially good for students who are more serious about their studies and like to be able to retreat to their own space when the day is through.

Drug Safety: Obviously drugs and alcohol are around. It's a college campus of thousands of students. However, if you are caught with drugs or alcohol you are very likely going to be kicked out of college. At the very least you will be fined. The school does a good job of staying on top of that and I personally have not seen any of these things on campus, but I know it's around.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not gone through an internship yet nor have I looked at the details of one. I am required to participate in an internship, but not until my junior or senior year. I am excited to eventually get involved in one as it will provide me with connections an experience.

College Freshman

Majors: The Cinematic Arts program at Liberty is brand new. They are still building classrooms and working out all the kinks, but they have professors who are experienced in the field. You must do work and take the program seriously, and if you do that it's a lot of fun. You get to be creative and work with others. Although not all the classrooms are finished yet, there will be a sound room, a computer lab with double monitors, and a mini movie theater along with normal classrooms. They have excellent facilities. The curriculum is involved. This is not a major you can just breeze through. Be prepared to work long and hard. The program also provides internships and opportunities to get involved and get connected. The program is still growing and Liberty is making sure it grows into something amazing.

College Freshman

Majors: Getting into the core classes for the Cinematic Arts program is a piece of cake. However actually applying for the program is a little more difficult. I have not yet gone through the process, but I know that the student applying must write an essay giving an idea for a film, have 2 letters of recommendation, unofficial transcripts, a letter explaining why the person wants to be a filmmaker, and one must go through an interview. The basic idea of the application process is for the professors to know that the student is serious about the program. There are a limited number of spaces available, however. My only tip for admission is don't take it lightly. If you are not committed you will not be accepted. This major requires a lot of hard work and if you are not ready to put in the effort then don't bother applying.
