Student Body: The students at my school are great. We all get along and there is a lot of school spirit.

Online Courses: I really enjoyed my online psychology class. It was nice to be able to take a class from home. The workload was not too overwhelming, the professor was very helpful and the peer-to-peer interaction was fantastic.

Career Services: The dental assisting and hygiene program has a great job placement service.

Campus Resources: The writing desk is very helpful! I have also used the library to study in and it is very quiet!

Campus Resources: Computers are very good resources to use at this school. The staff is always working on the computers so they are up to date and ready for us to use.

Academic Experience: My major, Dental Assisting, is really great! I love the instructors. It is easy to learn there. The course material is challenging but I love being challenged! I have homework every night but I am very organized so that is not a problem for me.

College Junior

Academic Experience: I am in a special program and I do not have to take any other classes besides the ones that are applicable to my major.

Online Courses: Lewis and Clark Community College offers a wide range of online classes. I have not taken any online courses in this college so I do not have a clear background, but I have known some people who have taken them and teacher that teach them. The teachers who teach online courses are usually the ones who are very well organized and informative so I could only assume their online courses are the same. The student who I have spoken to that take online classes love them, because it gives them more time to do things they need to do when they need to do them.

Student Body: There is some diversity but not much. This college is centered around small communities where people who attend are usually from the area so it is hard to really branch out. The student body does have some diversity though. The main ethnic race would mostly be Caucasians and next would be African Americans. There is not much diversity in sexual orientation it is uncommon to see a gay or lesbian couple, but it does happen occasionally. There may not be much diversity in political, sexual, economic, religious or ethnicity but the people of Lewis and Clark Community College are very accepting people despite there lack of diversity.

Academic Flexibility: Lewis and Clark Community College was very convenient for me. It offered classes I needed through out the week either during the day or in the afternoon. What it really ended up coming down to was if you could have the teacher you wanted. Attending this college was easy for me because I lived only 15 minutes away and I knew the area very well before attending. I thought most of my credits would not transfer to a big university but I was presently surprised to find out that when transferring from one Illinois school to another that most credits transfer. Also, Lewis and Clark offers many transfer programs with colleges through out Illinois like accounting, and nursing degrees.

Facilities: Lewis and Clark Community College is filled with a large age range of people from young to very old students, and this is mostly because people it is an affordable college that many people come to later in life to continue education. Most people that attend are from around the area so there is not much housing, and many people know one another. What I think this college has really developed well in is there Science department. Lewis and Clark Community College has a great staff in their Science department that seek to truly educate the students. Above all though this college has an excellent Nursing Program that is rigorous program, but pays off in the end with many job opportunities.

Tuition & Financial Aid: There are a lot of scholarship opportunities available for this school and because the tuition is not too high it was quite affordable. Although, signing up for the loans can be quite difficult because the information for all the requirements and forms to fill out are not as straightforward as it should be on the website. If you come into the financial aid office with your questions they are quite helpful in guiding you to what needs to be completed and will actually allow you to do some of the online paperwork in the office. One thing to keep in mind though is to make sure you get everything completed early, because the later you do it the harder it is to figure everything out and you may not have the loan money in time to get books. One last thing about financial aid for Lewis and Clark Community College is that since the tuition and fees are so low it is difficult to get financial aid for the average lower middle class student.

Facilities: The campus is small so it is easier to know more people. However, since I commute to school and most students are from the Alton area I don't know that many of them.

Academic Flexibility: They offered a good portion of the classes I needed to take as either online classes or night classes which better fit my schedule.

Online Courses: I loved my experience with online classes. It helped me work as much as possible and not drive the long drive to and from school. The workloads were average and I never felt overwhelmed with the amount of work I had to do. I also felt like it was easier to talk to the teacher and students than in a traditional classroom because I'm so shy. The teachers always got back to me in a reasonable time.

Campus Resources: Computer labs are plentiful but printing is limited which can be a hassle if you go to the wrong lab and need to print.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Once you learn your way around campus you realize how much there is. There is a pool, gym, huge library, and many computer labs.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: With being a smaller school in a somewhat area people tend to be friendlier and there is an openness around campus. Although, some people in certain programs tend to be clique.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: The program I am going through has very high ratings in the community and the graduates have a high success rate at gaining full time employment with in 3 months of graduation.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This is a great school especially for the cost, but some programs require you to purchase things through the bookstore which tends it be at premium cost.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The blackbord program seems user friendly and there is a required free class before you can take any online courses which gives one a good idea of what an online class will be like.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Unfortunately this is a community college which limits financial and the advisors don't all seem enthusiastic to help someone find alternative ways to pay for education.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Our campus is a nice mix of old and new...there are still a few original stone buildings which are beautiful but there are also several new modern buildings and labs. The lawns are well manicured and kept very clean.

2 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I'm my major there has been many changes ...for example there is no longer lectures but instead you self teach and then discuss/test over material. Also the program could move faster with summer classes.
