3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus security is not too strict; this can be good and bad. There are rarely incidents that require campus security involvement, so they are mostly lenient but respond to noise complaints seriously.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I would say my school is very strict on its rules. anyone caught in underage drinking will most certainly receive a penalty.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: The school is really strict when it comes to parking! The campus is very huge but you dont see public safety very often unless they are needed!

College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: PARKING TICKETS ALL THE TIME!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: This is a very lax campus when it comes to rule upholding. Mainly, the point is to look out for your own interests. Making the right decisions in college should be up to you if you want to learn how to make your own decisions, anyway.

In general, Lesley is a very open and lenient school that emphasizes personal responsibility rather than instating strict policies. Students are expected to know and understand the rules of campus, and, as there is no guest check-in policy, have full responsibility for their visitors, as well. Strictness in regards to alcohol, drugs, and noise varies from dorm to dorm, as different CAs (community advisers) have different tolerances. Some CAs are very strict when it comes to following the rules, but generally they are reasonable people. As long as students aren’t being too loud, they are all set to do as they please; while parties do get broken up from time to time and underage drinking isn’t overlooked by the administration, most parties are only investigated if there is a noise complaint or people are publicly under the influence.

Strictness in regards to class attendance tends to follow Lesley’s belief that students do not need to be babied and should be responsible for themselves. In this way, professors will not hunt you down if you miss class, though missing class can greatly affect your grade in some courses. Overall, the atmosphere of Lesley is very easygoing, and many students go all four years without getting into any kind of trouble.
