4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have never had any problems with either of these. Campus security is small, but vigilant and always patrolling/available. The town is very small as is the student body; everyone knows everyone.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I had such an easy time with financial aid. They send you a package personalized to you, after you apply and send fafsa information, letting you know what funds you are eligible for and you simply accept or decline them.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my major and how much I learn each week. The material covered in one test can be intensive but well worth it. One should definitely be willing to work hands on. Admission was fairly simple from what I recall.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I haven't really experienced much of the athletics on campus. Homecoming was a relatively big event and fun to participate in.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: You really get a personalized education as long as you take the time to know your professors.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Its great when everyone on campus is not on the server at the same time.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: They helped with anything I needed.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Its been great so far.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: It depends on who you are around.

Off-Campus Housing: Don't bother with it. It makes it harder to get to class when it snows.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love this school! Everyone is very nice even in the community.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It all depends on who you end up living with.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I love my career choice and I am very happy in my program.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It will happen anywhere you go, but Lees McRae takes care of their students.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They do it for our own safety.

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: The Greek life seems to be doing good things for the school and community.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: You have a couple of bars in walking distance. You have the bar on campus. Two cities about 25-30 minutes away.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: The campus is so small that you don't need any kind of shuttle. You are easily able to walk everywhere.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: I live in a house on campus. I enjoy my house. It feels almost like a small mountain cottage, not to mention I have a great view from my window. The only problem is the fact that since it is an old house we occasionally have old house problems (circuit shortages, blown fuses, etc.).

3 College Senior

Nightlife: The town only has really two places people can go to drink socially. Both are within walking distance, which is ideal if you have had a few to drink and you need to get home. However, there are not a lot of options for places people can go, especially since most students are required to live on campus now. Parties are very rare on campus.

3 College Senior

Facilities: Since our school is small we don't have state-of-the-art facilities. In a way, I enjoy the fact that we don't have really high tech rooms. I feel like they would be more intimidating and wouldn't offer the same laid-back feel I experience in my classes now.

4 College Senior

Facilities: I absolutely love it here. I'm a wildlife biology major and I am excited to be at a college that offers such a unique field of study. I am also an outdoor adventure studies minor and that class allows me to learn the skills of how to handle life out in the wilderness, as well as how to become a great leader. I have never heard of another college in North Carolina that offers such experiences to their students.

3 College Senior

Transportation: The campus is small and anyone can walk all the way across it in about ten minutes. We don't really have a need for on campus shuttle buses.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel completely safe. We live in a really small sleepy town. The only thing to really be concerned about are the bears that tend to dumpster diving on campus from time to time though. They are pretty chill though. Just don't pointedly mess with them and you'll be fine.

4 College Freshman

Weather: It snows all the time! Its pretty cold since we are the highest elevated campus east of the Mississippi River.
