Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid department has a tough job. The staff is excellent, friendly, and gets the job done. My financial aid experience thus far has been very positive. The process is just that, a process. You have your check list of requirements and if you complete them the process is smooth.

Academic Experience: I've been an LVN for over 25 years. Nursing is a tough major with demanding work load. The program, curriculum are fast paced and challenging, as the pre requisite are as well. I look forward to completing and advancing to my BSN after obtaining my ADN.

Academic Experience: Academics- varies according to your major. Great selections. Professors are great. Registration is an easy process. You can register online if you are a returning student, or see a counselor to walk you through.

Overall Experience: I've been trying to achieve my RN after being an LVN for 25 years. My transcripts were evaluated promptly and assessed fairly. I was disappointed when RN upward Mobility program was put on hold this year. But have hopes a program will be in place at the end of the year. Despite being one of the older students I have enjoyed attending Lamar.

Campus Resources: Resources on campus are excellent. Student success center has tutors available 5 days a week. Computers are available for use in the library in the computer lab, as well as in the Student Success center. There is always some of activity going on for students to enjoy.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition at Lamar State College Port Arthur is very reasonable. My financial aid process went really smooth, since I started and finish my process really early; way before classes started. I even became friends with the financial aid director, who helped me a lot with my financial aid to process faster.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason why I chose this school is because it's close to home, but also because the tuition fees are much less than other colleges in my location. The class schedules are also very flexible and convenient for me. I also was credited 3 classes because I was in a program in high school so that actually helped out a lot.

Campus Resources: We have plenty computers in the labs or in the library. Their network speed is also fast so that isn't an issue.

3 College Senior

Career Services: After I graduate, I should not have any trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally I am employed with a health company, they are an asset to me post graduation. However, I hope Im not disappointed. It's as if the school's sole focus is to find new fresh and happy faces for their prospective pamplhlets.

Student Body: My school consists of working class people with full time jobs or familes

Online Courses: I love online classes because it was more convenient and the instructors are great.

5 College Student

Student Body: The student body at my college is an extremely diverse group. Age, race, everything you can think of is there. What I've noticed while attending this school is that everyone is extremely open and helpful.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: The professors are pretty good but some of the classes such as my economics class isn't really easy to learn from. Every assignment and quiz is online and it just feels like I'm not learning much. I'm just inputing numbers and answers.

The english classes are very well rounding, especially because the teachers show us exactly what we're doing wrong.

Over all the teachers are okay but its pretty hectic dealing with talking to the advisor.

Campus Resources: Enjoy all the speaker that the school has every year.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Over all the school and campus is good. Every building is a walking distance.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: At first I didn't consider myself as a good student, but this institution helped me organize my thoughts and overcome everything I thought I wasn't good at.
