3 College Senior

Student Body: There are several different ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations present at the school. There is plenty of diversity.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the tuition is reasonable. There are scholarships and financial aid options available also.

3 College Senior

Facilities: There is a horse training program and barrel racing training program offered. Most schools don't have these programs available to students. The academic programs are average.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The resources on campus are about average. They're not outstanding, but not inefficient either.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: It could be better, but it could be worse as well.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: There is average flexibility offered through the institution.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are many opportunities available. It's a broad field and there are many job opportunities as well.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The classes offered and the professor's that teach them are great. There is flexibility available, study options, tutoring, etc..

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I've had nothing but good experiences with my online classes registration processes and professor student relationships.

3 College Senior

Career Services: The services are satisfactory, not exemplary.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am in Lamars Equine Business degree program. In this program 3 out of the 4 semesters you are riding horses and taking classes live reproduction, production, and managment along with you basic classes required. If you know something about horse it is a firly simple program when it comes to the horse classes. The other classes it just depends on the individual. Our barn is on campus and we have many oppertunities to ride and be involved in the program.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Lamar offers study labs almost daily. Professsors are easy to talk to and acomendate to your needs.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: the nursing program has a great group of professors with strong academic backgrounds and excellent passing rates for boards.

4 College Student

Facilities: Small town school, which is great you get to know everyone in your community, when an event is going on at the school the community comes out and supports the students.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: Good and easy to access

Campus Resources: The new athletic center is great but we have to pay an additional fee to use it. Granted it is a student fee so it is reduced in price but I feel like the cost should be included in our tuition. I pay student athletic fees which I don't really agree on.

Campus Resources: Printing should be free to students, or at least have a number of free prints before we have to start paying for them.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Our financial aid does not come through until at least a month or more into the semester. This is extremely unhelpful as I need help paying for school supplies and books when the term starts

Academic Experience: For the most part my professors were wonderful. Very attentive, on task, able to answer questions and replied quickly to any and all issues. The only teacher I had a problem with was the teacher to the pc class and it was not good at all. It would take her 2-5 days to answer any and all emails and a lot of my answers from her was to just keep trying to resolve the issue and hopefully it would all work out. I had more hours with tech support than I did doing the actual class work.

Overall Experience: The friendly staff and offered classes were what persuaded me to attend here in my local community. I could have chosen another school online but I chose this one due to the friendly environment offered by the advising staff and teachers.

Facilities: Things that I would say that set LCC apart from other schools is the personality. This school takes a multitude of back grounds, combines them together, including activities and involvement other places in the community and makes it an ideal place for all students. Our local bowling alley, movie theater, food places, and coffee shop all make sure to include a college night for all college students and I have only ever heard good things about these events.

Academic Experience: In my specific program for sociology I feel the work load is fair. Curriculum is a little more time consuming but I think that is due to my newly coming back to school after many years. Facilities, anytime I have had things to do at the college the facilities were a plus. They are also in the process of doing some updating. Internship/job opportunities- This town is a rather small community so internships are few and far between. How ever with a little persistence I and by broadening my education I do believe that job opportunities will open up in my favor.

Campus Resources: At our college we have availability to many activities and resources. They have a student center, library, computer lab, athletic center, even an office for medical necessities available.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: At LCC we have a wonderful set up in our computer labs and tutoring labs. We have computer availability in the library as well. I have not had to have anything printed there thus far but my son has and with no problems. All seem to be right on with the set up at the school, the only problems I've encountered was with online pc class and I would not recommend this particular class to anyone especially a new student. It was very discouraging.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Flexibility is an important part of my schooling. At LCC I take most classes online and so far they have all been available to me in this manor. Classes/curriculum are not an easy task for me but I manage. My family is my support system and because they pick up my slack in the evening allows me to be able to take classes and maintain good grades. My biggest frustration was with an online pc class and none of the computers I was using would connect to my teachers out dated program set up. It took me a total of 4 different computers and even my home college computer lab couldn't get me access.
