3 College Sophomore

Academics: Haven't really got into the program yet

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Every dining option at kutztown is great especially in the AF and MSU. But south, not so much

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Kutztown is a good school and a lot of the professors are cool

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I wish I could live somewhere where the staff wasn't always trying to get the residents in trouble or cause problems. Kutztown housing staff are like high schoolers always causing drama and talking about things that the residents do. Do your job and stay out of our business

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Some nights are fun and others are just boring it's a small town and most people choose to party at the frat house or go to a bar

Campus Housing: Campus housing at Kutztown is really a hit or miss. Many of the traditional, first year residence halls are old, run down, and could use some serious renovations. I was lucky and placed in the newly renovated Lehigh Hall. As the year went on, I quickly saw how cheap the construction was because things in the building began to fall apart very quickly. The walls are made of a cheap layer of drywall with painted cardboard. The ceilings in the shower also were falling apart by the end of the first semester. Oh and my ceiling sustained some water damage over winter break and created a huge hole that never got fixed despite many complaints to maintenance. The rooms are also pretty small too; it feels more like students are being warehoused. I do like though that the staff does what they can to establish a sense of community among the residents and help create long lasting bonds.

Overall Experience: It was not that great of a school for me. I don't feel the academics are preparing me to be the best I can be in my career and I really think I can do much better and am transferring out for the sake of my future. The school is in the middle of nowhere and offers little opportunity to expand your horizons. I feel like I wasted an entire year of my life.

College Sophomore

Majors: I'm transferring from this school next fall, so I really can't say much. When I told my advisor I was transferring, he told me "Smart move".

Local Atmosphere: The town of Kutztown is very small and has potential to be a decent place. The town's locals have a strong dislike toward university students and are not afraid to express their disdain toward them.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Unless you like binge drinking in a dingy basement, there really isn't much of a nightlife. You have to be 21 to get into any of the bars on campus. Most of the places in town shut down in the evening. And many students opt to go home on the weekends, making it a ghost town. If you want some real fun, hop on a Bieber Bus to NYC, which is only about 2 hours away.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: It literally feels like high school 2.0, especially with the Gen Ed courses. Just do your assigned readings, hand in your homework on time, attend class, show up for exams, and you will pass. Much of the course load consists of a lot of busy work.

College Sophomore

Academics: I was only a freshman at the time and still considered to be in the "business core" (meaning I haven't officially declared my major in a field within the college of business). This year, I will be a Finance major at another school.

2 College Sophomore

Majors: I was in the College of Business and it is a complete and utter joke. Most of the students are unmotivated to actually learn or do any of the work. During exam day, I was always surprised to see there were so many people in my classes because people never showed up! Professors were often rude and condescending, and often just handed out busy work. The freshman course load (except for Economics because the professors are horrendous and barely speak English) is a walk in the park. I helped run a club in the college of business and our advisors were almost non-existent; they NEVER once came to a single meeting or oversaw any of our activities. It made it difficult to really accomplish anything.

College Sophomore

Majors: I didn't do an internship through what KU had to offer because of the lack of opportunities it had to offer. I did an internship for a Fortune 500 company, all thanks to myself.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: To be honest, there are only one or two classes I really felt I was able to take something from. I was in the college of business and to be completely honest, it's a huge joke. Many of the students aren't motivated and only show up for exam day. The course load really is not that bad at all. Professors were often rude and condescending, and often only assigned us busy work. And cheating is also an epidemic that professors don't often crack down on. Many of my professors barely spoke coherent English and it was often difficult to understand what they were saying.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I attended some of the internship and job fairs and was not all that impressed with what they had to offer. It was mostly just small, local businesses that only offered you a limited experience.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Eh, the food off campus isn't really that great either. It's mostly a slew of the same style, hole in the wall restaurants that serve the same things. Everything is really cheap though and it's somewhat convenient. Mama's has great pizza and sandwiches and the Kutztown Tavern has some great food as well. Whatever you do, stay far, far away from China King and Pink Taco!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: There are definitely some aspects that the administration can ease up on, but also make a little stricter. I think for instance, Public Safety can be a little more lenient with parking violations. They're literally handed out like Halloween Candy! I also think some of the residence hall visitation rules could be a little more lenient. In the freshman dorms for instance, guests are only allowed to sleep over on Friday and Saturday nights and they have to be of the same gender for the first semester, and those of the opposite gender have to be out of the building by 2am. I mean come on, we're all adults here! I understand limiting people's visitation but jeez! I think professors should be more strict with honor code.

2 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I think public safety spends more time looking for parking violations than actually going after serious crimes.
