4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Just don't get caught and be responsible.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Local restaurants are growing but there is a long way to go.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Flint is not a college town.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: The scholarships help but the financial burden is still heavy for someone having to make up the difference by working.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Need a safe local area to shop.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The co-op program is awesome!

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek Life isn't for me.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Selection isn't the best but it's much better than the dorms. No Food Plan!

4 College Freshman

Academics: The Co-op program is indispensable to have in today's job market.

College Freshman

Greek Life: I am not apart of Greek Life, and I never will be.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I get my own room, and I can pick who my suite mate is.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the faculty, staff, and professors. The class sizes are small, so all my professors know me. I have lots of great friends here. The campus size is small, so I never get lost.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off-campus, and I never plan to.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Kettering is in its own safe "bubble." We are always advised to stay on campus as much as possible.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Kettering is an Engineering School, so the students are predominately boys. But I enjoy this because I prefer hanging out with guys over girls.

3 College Freshman

Computers: The wifi in the dorms is terrible. If you have a computer in the dorms, make sure you bring an ethernet cable. Otherwise printing is free, unless you want something in color. It is easier to have your own computer, that way you do not have to walk to the computer labs and then try and find a free computer.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The majority of the off-campus dining is in an ok part of Flint. None of it is in walking distance, or in a "safe" walking distance though. There does not seem to be any student discounts.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I do not go out at night. Flint is not safe. If I'm "partying" it involves staying in the dorms and playing online games with my friends.

3 College Freshman

Weather: We have a tunnel from the dorms, to the campus center, to the academic building. If there's bad weather, we can avoid it easily.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: There does not seem to be a lot of strict regulations at Kettering. Students who attend here are already very bright, so rules do not have to be overly forced. There are regulations in the dorms, but I abide by these rules, so I do not consider them necessarily "strict."

4 College Junior

Parking: Students at Kettering are allowed to have vehicles on campus at any point in their career as a student. A permit to park in the student parking is fairly inexpensive. Students are able to upgrade and park in faculty lots for a small fine more. Parking in any lot is easy and close to all classes. The longest distance from any parking lot to classes is normally only a few minutes walk.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Kettering University is located in the heart of Flint, Michigan. Flint is one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. With the security on campus and local officers looking out for us, we have little problems occur. On campus we only seem to have issues when students are walking outside at night alone. We encourage students to walk in groups and only in the small campus area.

4 College Junior

Diversity: We have a very diverse campus were everyone mingles and helps one another out. We are a very involved community. The student body spends a great deal of time together due to our extremely difficult class schedules. We are unique in the idea that we only go to school for six months out of the year. You have to be tolerate of everyone to get through and make the most of your education.

4 College Student

Computers: Printing is free in most labs. Library has a limit of 20 or so pages. Wireless is great in classrooms, dorm rooms need an ethernet connection (provided) as walls cannot transfer signal easily. Labs have reasonably new technology.

2 College Student

Campus Dining: The variety is limited and I struggle to find healthy, vegetarian options. The dining halls have weird hours, and nothing is open during late night hours.
