3 College Sophomore

Facilities: We have an older campus, but the administrators are always continuing to make our campus more modern. A state of the art science and technology lab, and a very large performing arts center are some of the perks of KSU at Tusc.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body is extremely diverse. Some of the students get pretty crazy in the student union, rowdy and rude.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: The great part about going to a local school is the local job opportunities and the networking that is opened up through going local.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is a flat rate if you are a full-time student with more than 11 hours per semester, which has been great for me.

Campus Resources: I have enjoyed the gym and weight lifting/ training rooms while I have been at KSU at Tusc. They offer many different ways to train and the gym staff is always willing to help you. Working out between classes was a great stress reliever for myself and other students.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The wireless access on campus is great. It supports not only computers, but mobile devices as well.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Online courses seem to be very difficult to get in to, just because the size of the class is limited to 30 students.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The advising staff at KSU at Tusc is usually very easy to get in contact with and they are always willing to answer questions and help you along the way.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at KSU at Tusc, there is always something going on, an activity, student organization or other group doing something. There is a wide variety of students- from post-secondary high school students to adult 'non traditional' students.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The nursing program at KSU at Tusc is one of the best. The advisors are always willing to help. The professors are great and all of the students in the program are there for one common goal.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: For the size of the campus, Kent State at Tuscarawas offers a wide variety of majors. I have been very pleased with my experience so far.

Online Courses: I was nervous at first about taking online classes because I had never taken any before and I did not know what to expect from online classes before I started, but once I started to take the classes it was very easy to get use to the structure of the course, and all that it entailed. Communication between the professor and student was very good, it was easy to contact the professor and receive a response very quickly. The structure of online classes at this campus was very easy to follow and to pick up quickly, everything like expectations for the course was made very clear from the beginning so that everyone knew what was expected which was very nice.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: i absolutely love my major. it is so much fun and there are so many opportunities. i had to opportunity to student teach my sophomore year, most schools only offer that your senior year. the workload seems a little overwhelming at the beginning, but it really is not bad. i love being in this major!

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: we do not offer a lot of four year degrees, 19 to be exact. but our majors and professors that teach them are outstanding.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: there does not seem like a lot to do, but you have to look into it. i am on the basketball team and i love it.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: there are so many helpful professors as well as students.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have a cyber cafe. Too many computer labs to count. at least 2 printers on each floor. free wifi. reliable and fast web.

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The online courses that are given are few and far between and most of the time the classes that are offered online are not core classes. They systems of online work need reviewed. Peer-to-peer interaction is not something that I've dealt with in an online class. The work load was okay.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility of classes is very good. I work about 25-30 hours a week and manage to have a full course load that fits nicely with my work hours. The only hassel is that not many classes are available at my campus and I have to commute to another regional campus just to complete my degree.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: While the tuition at Kent State Tusc is relatively affordable, you pay for the education your getting. In my experience the financial aid advisors do little to help find more money.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: This school has been excellent for allowing flexibility in my schedules. I work full-time and have been able to maintain a full-time academic schedule. While some of my classes were traditional, others have been online. Depending on your willingness to talk to an adviser, doing so will help you find what classes you need and when they are available. Many classes are available traditionally as well as online. Also, many classes are available in the evenings.

Academic Experience: The most popular programs within this school are nursing and engineering technology. The nursing program is also filled with many left on a waiting list. The engineering is also very popular as it produces many highly capable students for the job market. This area of Ohio has many manufacturing options for engineering students and the professors have contacts with the majority of the companies, allowing students to gain internships and jobs directly out of school. The only downfall of the curriculum is that many majors, such as forestry and other environmental studies, have not been included. Though I imagine they will be added within the coming years.

Tuition & Financial Aid: As I am attending a regional campus of Kent State University, the tuition is a bit lower than the main campus. However, the value of my education has only increased. With fewer students and small classrooms, professors are able to give more individualized attention to students. During my sophomore year of math, many students were having a difficult time with a certain lesson. My professor went over the material as many times as it took for the students to understand. Students are also able to network more than at a larger school. Many professors are instrumental in helping students get internships and jobs, even during the semester when most companies have already filled internship positions. This school gives more back to the student than they pay in tuition, by two-fold. The financial aid office is great, as well. Any time I had an issue with tuition or refunds, the financial aid office did not hesitate to help.

Online Courses: The idea of taking online courses did not scare me whatsoever, as it does with many students. I was looking forward to the flexibility and the freedom to study at my own pace. The professors have been incredible, thus far, in allowing students the time and capabilities to not only learn the material, but also interact with the other students in the "class". The only challenging aspects were knowing how to piece all of the assignments and tasks together. Since we were not being told verbally, we had to become very organized and know how to manage our work. Online courses are an excellent way for students to not only learn the subject material, but also improve their organizational skills, time management, patience, and communication, all of which are extremely important in the real world.

Academic Experience: The professors are able to give individualized attention to students, more so than larger universities. Also, many of the professors who teach at this school attended this school in the past, or even take classes there currently. My original major was electrical engineering technology, however after a few semesters I realized that it was not for me. The academic advisers were amazing in helping me decide to pursue an Integrative Studies degree in English, Geology, and Technology. It is very well-rounded and will assist in my future career goals, possibly international work in the environmental sector.
