3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Most people who live off campus live within fifteen minutes walking distance of the school. Living off campus tends to be preferred by most I've encountered - houses, apartments. Many old but charming houses.

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Kalamazoo College requires you to live in the dorms until spring of your junior year. Its very inconvenient as well as over priced compared to off campus housing.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Finding good off-campus housing can be hard as most people are trying to figure it out while on study-abroad, outside of the country. The best thing to do is be prepared ahead of time. Decide who you're living with and talk to the seniors who are leaving. That way you know what you're getting yourself into in terms of house and/or landlord issues.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The surrounding neighborhood is considered the student ghetto and it is easy to find an affordable place to live.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Affordable but Tricky – Kalamazoo has very Affordable housing. A group of five to six students can live very comfortably in a large house close to camps. The downside is the nearby neighborhoods can be a little sketchy the farther from campus you get and generally the closer ones are party neighborhoods.
