3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The dinning facilities are acceptable for students who have graduated from the public school system in America. As an international student, I found the food choices very limited and the quality and nutritious value to be very poor. The operation hours also are different from my culture.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There's a large amount of variety in the dining hall and provides options for students with dietary restrictions.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Baker food can be pretty s****y and you only get like three guest meals per semester, but Muddy has some good options especially if you have DCB.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: A great variety of foods, smoothie line, etc. but it is still college food and the fresh veggie/fruit options are severely lacking.

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: There´s only 2 places to eat on campus, and none of them are entirely amazing. They are working on making improvements, though, and every year the food gets a little better and vegetarian and vegan options have become more prominent.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students would probably agree that if the food in Baker were as pleasant as the people who serve it, they'd all be better off. However, most also recognize that a cafeteria is a cafeteria, and while it gets old pretty quickly, there's enough variety and sheer quantity of food to satisfy anyone's appetite when they actually find something they like. Muddy Run is considered the main escape route for anyone who's just not up to what Baker has on the menu for the day.

One bonus is Baker's vegan line. The dining hall is also centrally located in Ellis Hall, and Muddy Run is right upstairs. However, the main cafeteria is only open for certain mealtime hours, with Muddy picking up the slack for students who need to eat on a different schedule or grab something on the run. And in general, the upper the classman, the smaller the meal plan—they're all sick of it. One place that everyone stops at is Jitters, the campus coffee shop. Different meal plans come with declining credit balances (DCB) that students can spend on snacks and drinks in Muddy or Jitters. DCB carries over from fall to spring semester, but not to the following year. If you're trying to hang on to your DCB dollars, Jitters is going to be your no. 1 nemesis.
