4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Class registration is the best! It is so easy to get signed up for classes.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: Good way to receive credit without having to go to an actual classroom.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is very affordable! Great way to get my general education out of the way first.

College Freshman

Career Services: I haven't gone into have my credits transferred yet, will do next year.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: The school is great price but not social at all. Go to class and go home.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Again what a typical community college is like. Just average

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am just here to get my general ed classes out of the way

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Everything was what you would expect at a community college

3 College Junior

Facilities: The facilities are average, what you would expect from the campus

1 College Junior

Student Body: Most of the students are fairly weird doing there own thing I try to avoid them most of the time and stick to myself.

College Junior

Online Courses: I haven't taken an online course through the university.

1 College Junior

Career Services: The counselor I talked to was useless I received no information about my career and she didn't give off the vibe that she actually knew what she was talking about

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The computer lab is open most of the time and generally there is a seat or two open else where.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: It's bad having to log in after about 10 minutes of inactivity and the range is very poor

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Good labs for help I personally used the Science lab and the writing lab. I found decent help both places but mostly all of the help came from other students.

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: There are many computers available around campus and you get 200 pages to print with your tuition its fairly expensive after you reach that limit thought. There is campus wide wifi also available.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I have not really taken a major at this school just a General Studies Associates, I was undecided on what to do with it.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The writing lab is good. Thought they really do not help much besides try to re-teach you or give you programs to dissect your papers. Thought there seems to be a lab for almost every department and help is available if needed.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Lots of computer labs and lots of green space in campus

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I have had a few teachers that seemingly have no interaction with their students everything you needed to know is in the syllabus and they refuse to answer questions because you can find everything in the syllabus besides a grade that the only interaction you have with the teacher. I have had other teachers that were just wonderful sending out emails posting in the message boards.

3 College Senior

Student Body: I have had little interaction with other students, nobody seems to want to interact with anybody that they do not already know. It has been difficult making friends and almost ever attempt I have made has failed miserably.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have had to jump through a lot of hoops to keep my financial aid due to the nature of how I left another university. I have had to appeal every semester to keep my financial aid. I was never informed I was not allowed to drop a class and missed my financial aid one semester because of this when dropping the class as not an option and not other options were given to me.

Academic Flexibility: My husband took History up to 1877 about 3 semesters ago. I took the same class this semester with a different teacher and the classes are worlds apart my husband wrote two 7 page papers and a in class presentation. I have an assignment every week 3 tests, 3 papers and Socratic seminars. Which tells me the teachers are allowed a lot of liberty in their classes. I have had to use Rate MY Professor to land decent classes, its the only way to have some control over the hit and miss nature of the teachers. I have had some terrible professors that I even lodged complaints about to their department heads well one, I have also had some great teachers.

3 College Senior

Career Services: They have made walk in counseling almost impossible even if you have just a quick question that will take only a few moments. All counseling is done by appointment and they always seem to have booked up schedules and you have to schedule it out for 2 weeks. I spoke with 3 counselors about what course of action to take to become a high school debate coach and none of them could seem to point me in the correct direction. They all just gave me UMKC information and told me to contact them for help.

Academic Flexibility: It's been very easy to get enrolled in classes, drop a course, or get my enrollment status sent out to my existing student loans. When I have an issue, I can usually get it solved right away without having to go through much trouble. The flexibility of classes is great with options of day time class, evening class, and even online classes. Since it is a community college, the expenses aren't anywhere near the cost of a traditional 4 year university, which makes it so much easier. The only downfall is that I am unable to find certain courses that I would need for my program requirements when I transfer colleges to finish my nutrition degree.
