4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The Campus Police love to give out parking tickets, but thats about it. No one will give you any trouble there is practically zero on campus issues. You have a better chance of getting in a fight or robbed at a preschool than at John Carroll.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The police are always around to help out with a problem, even for something silly. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Solid health services. Campus Safety Services are responsive and understanding.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: It's pretty good, but people binge drink. Sometimes there is domestic violence.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe being on the actual campus grounds. However, there have been some incidents in the city and neighboring areas.

John Carroll is a very safe campus located in an equally safe neighborhood. Campus Safety Services (CSS) is good at responding to calls and generally is always there for you. For the most part, CSS is willing to help students out with anything, keeping alert of any suspicious activity. CSS is not too strict (except about parking), but strict enough. Theft, excessive drinking, drugs, and unlit pathways are the biggest safety concerns of students. Campus Safety Services tries its best to keep the students feeling safe, while Residence Life works on getting more lighting around campus. The majority of students feels safe walking across campus by themselves.

Most students agree that the Health Center, located right on campus, is convenient. The people that work in the Health Center are very nice and helpful. They will give you a lot of medicine to help you get over a cold or cough, and they will also provide you with ways to get over your sickness quickly. In addition, massage therapy is offered, and often health expos take place in the student center a few times a year.
