At John Carroll, the average student is smart and likes to party, with girls who tend to shop and boys who like to play sports. For the most part, students at John Carroll seem to all get along. With such a small school atmosphere, you get to know or recognize most people, which can be good and sometimes not so good.

It seems as if most guys at John Carroll are not looking for serious relationships and do not treat girls well. Most guys on campus seem to be looking just for "some fun." Hookups occur at John Carroll a lot, but many students are also in relationships. Students try to keep in mind that at a small school, news travels quickly, and also that it is difficult to avoid someone around campus you don't want to see.

Hookups or Relationships?
Dating at John Carroll is probably similar to a lot of other colleges. There are always those random hookups, and although they still happen quite a bit, they seem to happen less at John Carroll than at larger schools just because the JCU community seems so close. On campus, there is a decent number of people in relationships with someone-either at JCU, someone that lives nearby, or a long-distance relationship. Most guys don't seem too interested in finding someone to date, though; they usually just want to hook up.
Dress Code
Most people at John Carroll dress casually, like typical college students. Some wear pajamas and sweatpants to class every day, and other people wear skirts. It really varies; there is no right or wrong. Also, many students at John Carroll wear name-brand clothing; not everyone does, but a lot do. It's not that people really care if you wear name-brands or not; it really is just because they have the money to buy them.
