Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Describe your previous and current extracurricular activities and mention which activities on campus you would be interested in joining.
  • Discuss your interest and experience in volunteer opportunities.
  • Emphasize your accomplishments in high school-grades, athletics, etc.
  • Express your interest in a specific program that JCU offers.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Core class requirements
  • Going to class in college actually matters. Don't skip all of your classes because your teachers know who you are and will notice.
  • It is not the same as high school.
  • On-campus job availability
  • There are no clocks in any of the classrooms, which can be very irritating!
  • There is a lot of drinking.
  • You must stay organized and on top of your work, recognizing that the work is going to be more difficult than high school. But you should also get involved and not forget to go out every once in a while on a Thursday night and have some fun!
Interviews & Information Sessions
John Carroll does not require an interview for students to get admitted, but the University does require one for certain scholarship opportunities. In addition to interviews, the information sessions are included with the campus tours. To take advantage of these opportunities, call the Office of Admission.
