4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty cool. Everyone gets along and they have something planned each week at least from each Greek frat/soro. They are always having things, encouraging you to join. Very friendly and active.

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: There was a rape case this year involving a student with a prominent role in Greek life. The university is still making every effort to shove the whole thing under the rug, especially those in charge of Greek life.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life isn't a huge presence around school. The guys are probably not affected at all, being a Greek or not usually won't even change who your friend are. For some girls it gets out of hand and if their not in the best of Greek life everyone else is a loser. These girls usually don't last long in the college life anyways though. Honestly the most Greek life does is put on campus events that help bring students together, but isn't a huge deal.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Though I thoroughly despise "Greek life," for students who sadly wish to participate in it, it isn't too bad for them. Housing is nice, parties are big and prestigious (somehow, in their minds), and availability is pretty open. It's easy to find sororities and fraternities, and they are pretty active in the community.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Honestly, everyone should give greek life a shot. If its not for you then you can just quit and move on with your life, but if you don't quit then you will gain a life long brother hood or sister hood.

Watch any movie or television show about college life and you're going to see frat boys and sorority girls, but the media might have given you the wrong idea about what Greek life is all about. Academic excellence is an important part of being Greek. To attend recruitment, you must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Statistics show that Greek students earn higher grades and hold more leadership positions compared to non-Greeks on campus.

The Greek community also does great things for the community, such as fundraisers for great causes and volunteering their time. Plus, Greeks have a built-in support system and social network, which is extremely helpful especially for freshmen and transfer students.
