4 College Sophomore

Academics: The Teacher Education Program at JSU is wonderful. The staff is professional, and they expect the best from their students. It can be unorganized at times, but most schools will be from time to time. I have enjoyed my time in Ramona Wood Building.

Academics: So far, the intro classes are a joke. I'm taking a lot more courses in the fall that deal particularly with my major, and I'm excited to see how it goes.

College Sophomore

Academics: I don't think I've been here long enough to properly rate the academics.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm a history major, and the academics are alright, though some of the requirements for the major are rather draconian and unnecessary, such as requiring twelve whole hours of foreign language courses, which at this institution are notoriously hard. I'd knock it down to just six, personally. It's not like an undergrad history major will need anything beyond basic Spanish/French unless they plan to travel and/or work abroad.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Its very easy, but the problem is some teachers just don't care.

Some people say that JSU stands for "Just Show Up," but this is only partly true. It is extrmely important to show up for all of your classes, but there is more required of you if you plan to be sucessful.

Reading is something you will be doing a lot of, as well as homework assignments. Although, unlike high school, most of the time professors won't even look at your homework. Do it anyway, though, because it will help you do well on your tests. Professors at JSU are friendly, and they will work with you if you are struggling in a class. Also, tutouring is available if you need it. Just talk to your academic adviser.
