Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Being a Historically Black University, many of the buildings on campus have important history behind them, and there are several protected landmarks. Complaints flow across campus about the campus presentation, but administrators are steadily working to lose the negativity toward the buildings.

JSU has numerous of facilities for the community, faculty, staff, and students. The H.T. Sampson Library is a fascinating building on campus, housing the cool and calm hang out spot, the Java News. The Java is a coffee shop where you can go and study or just get away if need be. The Student Center houses many rooms inside including the movie theater. JSU's newest gymnasium was named after the famous football player Walter Payton, who is an alumnus.
