Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing is poor in some cases and good in others. Since my school is considered to be I the ghetto,it is not as safe to live off campus than on campus. In a place called the Sade's students get robbed and beat up constantly just by walking from the school to their housing. The good of this place is having privacy, the cost is not too high, and it is less than five minutes away as a walk.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at my school is kind of bad. The reason being is because sometimes students walk pass you and smell just like they have the full plant I their pocket with them. Also, it is bad because students go and buy liquor like water and they are only like 18-19 . The peer pressure trap a lot of students into the hands of others. The need to have so done notice you make some student start getting high with people just to have someone say they know them.

Weather: The weather is very bipolar. One day it is hot and one day it is freezing cold. Also, when it is in the fall time it is so hot that it makes someone want to jump into the pool everyday.

Nightlife: The nightlife at my school is great for students that like to party and do underage drinking. however, myself I do not go out and participate in no parties off campus. At the parties, the cost to enter is cheap and if you do not have a ride there is a party bus that runs to pick students up.

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining is great. There are plenty of choices to choose from at a low cost. Sometimes with low cost foods the food be the value but here the food is worth much more than the value. Having students discounts helps to buy more than just food. It helps to get students clothing also but everything is great and convenience for students looking to grab a snack throughout the day or late at night.

Campus Housing: To live on campus it is very expensive if you do not have a scholarship. When it comes to finding dorms, I feel that it is kind of poor and unfair treatment. Athletes get to make sure all their rooms are taken care of first then the rest of the student body have to get in where they fit in at. Some of the dorm building are real but still in good living position. The meal plan is high and sometimes you can barely get a decent meal to eat but other than that it's great to live on campus. The ability to socialize with others is easy because the campus is not so big and there is a nice place out where people communicate and sit at which is the plaza.

Campus Strictness: My school strictness brings a sense of trust and honor into the administration. WhT that do are mKe sure we do not have no one walking on the campus within the community since the school is located in an open community. To ensure safety, the polices checks parking decals, when people have stranger looking back packs they check them for weapons and the housing staff checks everyone when entering the dormitory. I feel I can trust them because with they strictures they are making sure the safety of others are taken care of. Also, there are students walking to mad from class in big crowds so what the security guards do are stand out in the opening where students walk to make sure no fights break out or any kind of illegal transactions happen.

Majors: The process of getting into or through the program was quite simple. I made sure I had all of my high school graduation requirements along with the college requirements take care of. There was no difficult or challenges I encounter except of taking out the loans to help me pay for the tuition and etc. The mist important criteria is to pass all of your subject area courses and test. Also take either the SATP or the ACT. The is no abnormal application process. I would give advice on finding and applying for as many scholarships as you can.

Majors: What is it like to be in an specific program at my school? We'll for starters you have the opportunity to me new people from different parts of the world. Also, my specific program is Accounting. I enjoy my program because I love working with numbers and learning principles from activities that will be helpful in the ling run. I have to keep at least a 2.0 average to meet graduation requirements and pass each course with at least. 2:0.

Transportation: I do believe that transportation is not a problem. The public bus system actually gives student a discount. So its good to know that you can get where you need to. Also most students who do have cars are friendly enough to carpool with you on places you may mutually need to go.

Weather: To me the weather is fine. You honestly can't predict the weather so its usually no big deal. The weather won't detour me from my studies.

Greek Life: Geeks help to liven up the campus especially on Friday during the hot spot.

Transportation: The transportation is convenient especially if you don't have a car.

Campus Strictness: Some of the policies at school are helpful, but some aren't helping to provide us with a safer campus.

Academics: I'm a Earth Science major the workload is fair most of the time, but some of the professors are hard to understand.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off campus dining is pretty good.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The attendance at the sport events are good, but some basketball games aren't attended.

Drug Safety: Drugs are used often especially in the dorms.

Off-Campus Housing: The pros and cons of staying off campus would definitely help you make a decision.

Pros- More Freedom, as far as you being able to do what you want and have whoever you want visit you unlike staying on-campus. Also, you have a kitchen, meaning you have a stove and bigger refrigerator, whereas on campus you onlyhave a microwave to cook with.

Cons- People have a better chance of robbing you.

Your meal plan become cancelled

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Jackson is the home of many, and the future home of many to come. Prospective students always want to know: Why choose JSU? Choosing Jackson State is one of the best choices a student can make in his or her life. Many people are quick to judge this University because of its HBCU title. Once you're here, though, you receive a reward that will be remembered. Every school has it down sides, some more than others, but this does not characterize the University's ability and what it can do for you.

Students at JSU strive to raise the standards and live above the stereotype set out for JSU. They show love for their school through sports, academics, and community service. Attending JSU teaches you to respect others and use common sense. If you did not know who you were before entering, you will know upon graduation.

The professors are very encouraging, and they care about their students. The knowledge they instill in one is different but comprehension. Many professors have personal relationships with their students, and it makes the college ride a smooth sailor. You will meet people from all over and establish a long lasting relationship. This is the best part about attending Jackson State.
