Local Atmosphere: It's pretty cool and there are a lot of people from the area.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: Do your financial aid on and stay on it. It's hard for me to scholarships because of my GPA but I always try.

Athletics: All sport teams are good but some are better. There is no awkwardness with the athletics.

2 College Senior

Campus Dining: There are not a lot of options and they close too early.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: It's easy to find somewhere to eat and the prices are not that bad.

4 College Senior

Facilities: There a lot of organizations to join on campus and activities participate in.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are all kinds of internships and careers for all different majors. You have to be willing to work hard.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Some courses are pointless to take. The size of the classes are not that big. Some professors cannot teach so it's hard to learn. There are other professors that are willing to help.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Some guys and girls think they're better than others and some don't. Some try to fit and some be who they are.

3 College Senior

Academics: The biology majors gets a lot of attention. I am part STEM- science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. But, pre-physical therapy does not get a lot of recognition and it's hard to find internships.

3 College Senior

Academics: You have some professors that are there to teach you, and others just there for a pay check. Sometimes, if you do not care about your education, then the will professor will not care. But you do have professors that will try to push you to work hard. The registration process is pretty easy.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: So far, there has not been any issue concerning sexual assault. Unless, people do not report sexual assault. The campus security are very lazy.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: There are some Greeks that are cool to hang out with and some are not, because they might think they're better than the non-Greeks. Not all Greeks are the same.

3 College Senior

Diversity: People show who they really are and some still hide it from everybody else. Some are ashamed of how people might think of them.

3 College Senior

Diversity: I'm a minority student at the university.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I enjoyed my first year. This wasn't originally my first choice but they still have my scholarship available for me and allowed me to still come.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I absolutely love all the shopping places located by my school. There are tons of places to shop.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: It's hard to find good parking.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus but there is an apartment complex right by the school. Not really far at all, I have walked there many a night.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: If you have transportation, then it's great. If you don't, then you have to make friends fast.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: There are many different ethnic groups. It's kinda weird at first but most of them are really cool people. It's nice to hang out with & learn something new.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Jackson is the home of many, and the future home of many to come. Prospective students always want to know: Why choose JSU? Choosing Jackson State is one of the best choices a student can make in his or her life. Many people are quick to judge this University because of its HBCU title. Once you're here, though, you receive a reward that will be remembered. Every school has it down sides, some more than others, but this does not characterize the University's ability and what it can do for you.

Students at JSU strive to raise the standards and live above the stereotype set out for JSU. They show love for their school through sports, academics, and community service. Attending JSU teaches you to respect others and use common sense. If you did not know who you were before entering, you will know upon graduation.

The professors are very encouraging, and they care about their students. The knowledge they instill in one is different but comprehension. Many professors have personal relationships with their students, and it makes the college ride a smooth sailor. You will meet people from all over and establish a long lasting relationship. This is the best part about attending Jackson State.
