Academic Experience at Ivy Tech Community College - Kokomo: the workload is heavy which is expected during the first semester. i like that all my nursing classes are in one building so i don't have to walk to multiple buildings for classes

Overall Experience at Ivy Tech Community College - Kokomo: i really like having a small class size. it allows the professors to work one on one with students to better address questions or concerns. i feel that ivy tech offers a large variety of courses throughout the year and that the courses are taught very well. i feel that i actually do learn something and don't feel like i'm wasting my time

Online Courses at Ivy Tech Community College - Kokomo: I like online classes because i can work on assignments at my own pace and don't have to drive to the campus. but i prefer the traditional classroom experience as it is more hands on and sometimes its easier to communicate with a professor face to face because i feel that any questions i have a better explained face to face instead of email.

Academic Flexibility at Ivy Tech Community College - Northcentral: One of the reasons that I choose Ivy Tech was the flexible classroom schedules. I was working full time days and I needed night classes. I was able to do all my prerequisites at night. I have also been able to take classes at different campus when needed and summer classes are available as well. They make it easy to work around your schedule.

Academic Experience at Ivy Tech Community College - Northcentral: All the professors that I have had has been great. They all seemed to have my best interest in mind and I always got help when I needed it. Some classes can be tough to get into, like A&P, and you have to be put on a wait list. The key is to register early.

Academic Experience at Ivy Tech Community College - Northcentral: I got accepted in the nursing program at Ivy Tech and it was tough to get in. There are not a lot of spots available and they use a point system based on your grades and TEAS test score to determine who gets in. You pretty much have to have straight A's to get in.

Campus Resources at Ivy Tech Community College - Northcentral: Ivy tech has a lot to offer students if they want to be involved! They have a variety of sports teams like basketball, softball, and bowling.Their libraries are top notch with all the amenities to assist you in getting your assignments complete like computers, copiers, and books for research. Also they provide free tutoring. My favorite is the student activities board. They plan get togethers for the students to meet and do things around the community. This is a great way to meet new people with your same interest.

Student Body at Ivy Tech Community College - Northcentral: I have had a great experience with getting to know the students at Ivy Tech. I have attended classes at three different locations and each experience has been a positive one. I have been able to form study groups and have made many friends along the way. Ivy Tech has many different students from different cultures and backgrounds. The one thing we have in common is that we all are trying to better our lives by getting the education we need to succeed.

Academic Flexibility at Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington: I'm unaware of the transferring credits process, but my experience with flexibility of the classrooms is an average review that I'd give. For curriculum I have had a few hassles or frustrations that i can think of, which mainly the one experience I can recall that stands out to me was something I'm petty sure nobody could necessarily control or prevent from becoming a frustration. I'm referring to a just recent change of the courses required to take in my major, which led me to have to switch my "title" of associates degree I am seeking, as well as added onto my amount of courses needed to complete in order to obtain either (2 available) degree. I was faced with having to decide on what classes to add to account for more credits, but also at such a close time when I only had a few classes left total. this was a bit frustrating and of course a little disappointing since I thought to be graduating sooner than I now will. With all that being mentioned I also feel I could have been more informed about my curriculum and/or what my courses would consist of, such as by my advisor.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington: Really my only complaint would have to be of two things...I never was told when I first started at Ivy Tech that if I were to attend Fall and Spring semesters and use financial aid, that then this would mean during the Summer courses (If I chose to apply) that i would then be left with zero aid and have to apply for a loan to cover my courses, books, etc. This was surprising to me, although I guess I understand the reasons and can't change this, but it is something I feel the wish for being different of course. I have to often apply for loans for my educational expenses, which is something I didn't want to have to do often through obtaining my degree, but then again that seems about impossible to think of as realistic, especially after being a full-time student now for over two years. I don;t know what i would have done if these loans were not an option. My only other "complaint" as far as financial topics go, would have to be that I believe there could be more scholarships, grants, etc. available and/or something within the school that considers students, like myself, that have young children and also that need childcare (and/or with thinking of assistance/options in this area). As far as the process goes for what is available through Ivy tech, this is very simple and works well within completing the actual process (not a difficult process and Ivy tech provides many different types of resources, links, etc. through the school/online that can answer any questions needed to be found if someone were to need help through this process).
