4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus police are always around and they always let the students know if certain incidents took place on campus.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I don't know, I've never lived off campus.

College Sophomore

Majors: I am switching into a new major because I was not happy with the one that I had upon entering Ithaca College but I am exicted to be switching into a new major.

College Sophomore

Majors: I've never had an internship.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Depending on what dining hall you go to and what they're serving.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: It's not the worst thing in the world but I feel as thought they could be a bit more realistic. This is a college people are going to do things that they aren't supposed to be doing, especially drinking. At the same time I know they're just trying to keep us safe.

3 College Freshman

Academics: My classes were decent, some better than others.

3 College Freshman

Computers: We need more Macs in the library, it's ridiculous

3 College Freshman

Weather: I'm from New England so I'm used to the snow.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The TCat is okay but I'll love to have my car.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Only been here one year so it's been FYRE for me.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I'm an HSHP student so I'm kind of bias, sorry.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: A decent variety but it can get a bit pricey.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: For a town with a college on either side it's fine

2 College Freshman

Weather: Ithaca is very grey and snow-y a lot of the time and can depress you easily but that's what it's know for as well so you have to be ready for it.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics are very popular on campus but I wouldn't be surprised if someone said they don't participate either.

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: We don't have Greek life. I heard that it was banned from Ithaca College.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: There's always parties everywhere. It can just be difficult to go to those parties sometimes.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: I think the reason I feel it's pretty diverse is because I am always around international students and even if they don't have an international status (like me, I live in Boston but I'm from South Africa) they are from a different country.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: There's no way to know for sure if anyone has drugs or alcohol in their dorms at any school so I don't blame our school for not knowing sometimes. But there are spots on campus that are known for being drinking or smoking spots and I'm surprised public safety aren't around those spots.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I know of a few students that have been caught by public safety but I also know of a lot that haven't been caught and it's actually really surprising.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: I went through some SERIOUS issues and couldn't meet my scholarship requirements and Financial Aid would not even hear me out, my scholarship was taken away.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Students tend to stick to the friends they have but they always look happy regardless of who they're with.

3 College Freshman

Computers: I wish there were more Mac Lab's available to students who aren't in Park.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Extremely nice and approachable people who are here to learn and meet other people.

When students are asked to evaluate their overall experience at IC, they often look at the lessons they learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who go beyond the social aspect of college and get involved end up both gaining the most experience and having the most fun. Many students love IC because of its size. Sometimes, it’s hard to walk anywhere on campus without bumping into someone you know. With such dreadfully cold winters, the academic programs and well-organized student groups are the main reasons students come back every year. Also, the great size allows students to connect with other students in their majors and their professors/advisers, as well.

Like many things in life, students’ experiences with IC are simply what they make of them. If you sit in your dorm room for four years, you will be miserable. If you experience the life Ithaca has to offer and go outside of your comfort zone, you most likely won’t regret your decision to attend IC. The school’s high retention rate proves this. IC offers a great mix of academics and everything else college life should offer—friends, fun, professional opportunities, active campus life, and a time to learn and grow.
