Campus Dining: I think our dining halls are good, but I'm frequently annoyed by their hours.

Weather: Ithaca weather changes all the time. Some people love it, some people hate it. It's nice to have the whole range of seasons.

College Junior

Guys & Girls: I don't think I'm qualified to review this since I've been dating one person the whole time.

4 College Junior

Diversity: I think that diversity at Ithaca is great. Acceptance is very high.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Campus housing is so-so. I'm happy with it and have nothing to complain about, but it's nothing special either.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is so much variety around Ithaca. The city is chock-full of interesting and fantastic places to eat, and overall is vegetarian/vegan friendly with many organic options.

Weather: The weather in Ithaca is atrocious. It's beautiful in the summertime, however that weather only carries over for a matter of weeks during the school year. It is more or less like an East Coast Seattle, and it definitely can affect one's attitude during the year, especially winter.

Overall Experience: I came to Ithaca College for the Park School, however after experiencing the film program, I decided it was not the major for me. I'm not a writing major at IC, however I don't think this school is worth going to if you are not enrolling in one of their more reputable schools. There is a lot of great faculty here though.

Greek Life: There is no greek life at Ithaca College so the question is not applicable.

Facilities: Ithaca College has a great program for Communications, Theater, and Music. However, there is a fair amount of favoritism towards these schools and the college invests all its money into constantly renovating its most profitable schools while schools like the School of Humanities and Sciences is often forgotten.

Facilities: There is very little to do in Ithaca despite it being a college town. Most parties take place over at Cornell (about ten minutes away), there is little time to get involved in the extracurricular activities (though there are numerous options).

4 College Sophomore

Computers: It is a lot easier to have your own lap top but there are many computer labs that are open 24/7

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: The bio bus will take you any where you need to go both on and off campus and it comes every 10 minutes or so to any given stop

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Its fantastic, the teachers all have real life experience in your major and are all very excited to see you do well.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: They do a great job of helping you to find and get some fantastic internships!

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Lots of people are in greek life but you can pretty much get in to any frat party even if you aren't greek

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Everything at Elon is beautiful. They put so much effort in to how the school looks which makes walking to class so much nicer, even in the winter you can appreciate what a beautiful campus we have

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Facilities are amazing. They are always improving the buildings and even building new ones!

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Every one is very good looking and extremely put together. Its guaranteed you'll find someone whose your type. Especially if your type is the preppy kind.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: It's alright. They're taking away a hundred parking spots to build the new admissions center

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They're as strict as any other school on alcohol and stuff but pretty lenient with a lot of things

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The Communications school is great and classes are highly relevant to your future in the comm world

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Teachers are great and the academics are top notch.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Lots of people go to football games, but our best teams are soccer and baseball and watching them is so much more fun!

5 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There are dozens of dinning options both in and out of the dinning halls!

When students are asked to evaluate their overall experience at IC, they often look at the lessons they learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who go beyond the social aspect of college and get involved end up both gaining the most experience and having the most fun. Many students love IC because of its size. Sometimes, it’s hard to walk anywhere on campus without bumping into someone you know. With such dreadfully cold winters, the academic programs and well-organized student groups are the main reasons students come back every year. Also, the great size allows students to connect with other students in their majors and their professors/advisers, as well.

Like many things in life, students’ experiences with IC are simply what they make of them. If you sit in your dorm room for four years, you will be miserable. If you experience the life Ithaca has to offer and go outside of your comfort zone, you most likely won’t regret your decision to attend IC. The school’s high retention rate proves this. IC offers a great mix of academics and everything else college life should offer—friends, fun, professional opportunities, active campus life, and a time to learn and grow.
