4 College Junior

Academics: I love the Speech Pathology program. The teachers are all so passionate and work hard to know each student personally. Many of them use powerpoints for their notes and make note taking extremely easy.

Campus Dining: I am a very healthy eater and was also vegetarian for a few years. I never had a problem finding something to eat in our dining halls. They also had a kosher section with excellent food that I really enjoyed.

Scholarships: I am very grateful for all the financial aid I received. It was somewhat of a difficult process however. Also, Ithaca is a very pricey school and having the school provide more aid would be extremely beneficial.

Local Atmosphere: The commons is one of the best college towns in the United States. It is beautiful and provides students and locals with so many shops, restaurants, and even a few bars for night life. Additionally, the state parks and gorges are beautiful and always a nice place to relax with friends or my family when they come to visit.

Overall Experience: Overall, I really like the professors and the classes I've taken. The speech pathology program is pretty small and competitive. However, I like the small size because the teachers get to know you more personally and are always willing to provide you with individual attention and extra help.

Overall Experience: The alumni program at Ithaca is very strong. They provide many career and internship fairs to help students get more involved and put their foot in the door. For my senior year my program will be providing a lot of clinical work.

Guys & Girls: There is a very diverse group of students at Ithaca College. There are many musical and artistic guys and girls but then there are also many into athletics. A lot of people are into partying but you are not the odd one out if you do not like to drink, there is always something else to do.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus, we have blue lights spread out through the campus that will alert public safety if we are not feeling safe and they are there in under a minute. The public safety sticks to the rules but are not overbearing and very fair.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Great housing, the process of housing selection is very difficult

Guys & Girls: It's like if Glee and Big Bang Theory had a baby.

Academics: Never tried Computer Science before.

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: Not enough good meats to choose from.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Never tried it, but not in my interests.

2 College Junior

Campus Strictness: t's only bad if it ever happened to you.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Repeating the same process is tiring.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: A clean college is a great one.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Public safety is diligent at their job.

Athletics: We do somewhat well in some sports but they aren't very important. Cortaca is our biggest sporting event and the only one people seem to go to. We have a lot of intramural sports that are pretty popular and we have a Quidditch team that is pretty popular. Our theater performances have a higher attendance than our sporting events if that explains anything.

Guys & Girls: Ithaca is pretty hipster, some girls who go out 5/7 nights a week can look a little skanky with their outfits, a lot of different types of people.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: I love Ithaca. It's beautiful with the fountains on-although they notoriously shut off right after parents weekend. The Textor ball is a well known meeting spot on campus. The performing arts are top quality with Broadway results- absolutely amazing. Some dorms are modern but there are some (lower quads) that are in desperate need of renovation. On warm days-which are rare in Ithaca-the lawns are covered head to toe with students socializing, long boarding, slack lining, juggling, playing frisbee or kanjam or soccer. The athletic centers are very well maintained and have plenty of machines that only get full every so often at certain times a day.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: They encourage seniors to move off campus although many juniors choose to. You have to apply to get approval to move off campus but I haven't heard of anyone who hasn't been approved. There are many houses available for lease around campus, there are a couple main streets that students tend to stick to.

When students are asked to evaluate their overall experience at IC, they often look at the lessons they learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who go beyond the social aspect of college and get involved end up both gaining the most experience and having the most fun. Many students love IC because of its size. Sometimes, it’s hard to walk anywhere on campus without bumping into someone you know. With such dreadfully cold winters, the academic programs and well-organized student groups are the main reasons students come back every year. Also, the great size allows students to connect with other students in their majors and their professors/advisers, as well.

Like many things in life, students’ experiences with IC are simply what they make of them. If you sit in your dorm room for four years, you will be miserable. If you experience the life Ithaca has to offer and go outside of your comfort zone, you most likely won’t regret your decision to attend IC. The school’s high retention rate proves this. IC offers a great mix of academics and everything else college life should offer—friends, fun, professional opportunities, active campus life, and a time to learn and grow.
