5 College Student

Campus Housing: I met the majority of my friends from my floor. My RA especially did a great job of joining everyone together.

5 College Student

Campus Dining: There's plenty of options around campus to eat. Anyone who says theirs not is too lazy to walk to another of the 3 dining halls we have!

5 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: Ithaca is a college kid's dream when it comes to late night muchies. Wings, pizza, chinese, cookies, all can be delivered right outside your dorm.

4 College Student

Computers: The school offers free printing so there is really no need for a personal printer, only for the convenience of one

3 College Student

Weather: I have to admit the weather at Ithaca is a bit gloomy. Lots of rain, lots of wind, lots of snow. But the view we have of Lake Cayuga is always worth it.

5 College Student

Facilities: Ithaca, academically, has some of the best programs in the country. Our theater school, communications school, and school of physical therapy are all nationally recognized.

5 College Student

Facilities: There's always something to do on campus no matter who you are!

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are very strict on parking, but as far as other things go they can be alright. Unfortunately they are much more interested in their roles than in safety.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I looked into it. It's hardly worth looking into. There are so few houses to rent, and while the school is overbooked, they are not at all helpful in the transition.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There have been some good moments at Ithaca, but they've been few are far between. I regret going here, but I did gain some new experiences.

2 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are very few options at Ithaca, although I suppose that is a limitation of the size school.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Ithaca is a fairly diverse campus if you only mean in terms of sexual orientation. There aren't many other ethnicities represented at Ithaca.

1 College Freshman

Athletics: If Ithaca announced they were shutting down athletics, people would feign anger for a week, and then move on. Its not even really a part of campus life.

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: The nightlife at Ithaca is horrid. There are few parties, and they always get busted by the police.

3 College Freshman

Academics: My major does not have much interaction with the terrible school instituted programs, therefore the classes for my major are not as annoying as all others.

2 College Freshman

Academics: Ithaca does not come across as a bad school, unfortunately everything seems limited. Its a small liberal arts college, so everything should be ambitious. Teachers and administrators should be trying to provide a good experience, but the programs that the school institutes limit classroom productivity.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: There is public transportation that comes to the school. Very inconvenient thought, and not reliable.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: This is the worst thing Ithaca College did by telling everyone that lots of places in town accept student money and / or discounts. My parents thought this was the best thing in the world until I told them that it was a blatant lie.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Literally nothing at all to do in Ithaca. The college make it seem like a lot would be going on, but this is not the case at all.

1 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I've lost about 25 pounds because the thought of having campus food is so off-putting.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: They are really just there to get in the way. They don't make any exceptions for parking even if you have legitimate excuses.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Costs too much, they are very strict, and too far from everything.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing after freshman year is very popular cause of it's convenience, availability and low cost

4 College Senior

Nightlife: Great but could be better

3 College Senior

Parking: Not a big deal because not a lot of students

When students are asked to evaluate their overall experience at IC, they often look at the lessons they learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who go beyond the social aspect of college and get involved end up both gaining the most experience and having the most fun. Many students love IC because of its size. Sometimes, it’s hard to walk anywhere on campus without bumping into someone you know. With such dreadfully cold winters, the academic programs and well-organized student groups are the main reasons students come back every year. Also, the great size allows students to connect with other students in their majors and their professors/advisers, as well.

Like many things in life, students’ experiences with IC are simply what they make of them. If you sit in your dorm room for four years, you will be miserable. If you experience the life Ithaca has to offer and go outside of your comfort zone, you most likely won’t regret your decision to attend IC. The school’s high retention rate proves this. IC offers a great mix of academics and everything else college life should offer—friends, fun, professional opportunities, active campus life, and a time to learn and grow.
