4 College Junior

Overall Experience: As long as you keep in mind that this is a community college, I think you'll enjoy it. It's got a better "collegey" feel than other community colleges I've seen, just with layout of the campus and general attitude of students and faculty.

Career Services: Once again, you kind of get passed off to other people and half the time no one replies to my emails. Thankfully I'm smart enough to figure most of it out on my own, but I'd imagine it would be detrimental to those who don't have access to resources to help make their decision.

Student Body: Like any college, you get the people who really want to be there and are obviously trying to do something with their lives and then there's the people who are just there to rake in the financial aid and be generally annoying and disruptive to those of us that want to get our degree. For the most part people want to succeed and are pretty friendly towards everyone else. I think it's partly the program I'm in... we're all kind of competitive so we're a little more argumentative with each other than most programs, I'd guess.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: I hate online courses on principle... I definitely need to be in a classroom setting.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: I don't know why the school doesn't have more computer labs with the ability to print... there's also a lack of QUIET places to study because apparently no one that goes here knows what a library is and that you aren't supposed to be chatting with your friends for hours while you're there. It's so frustrating!

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The internet isn't the speediest but I also don't expect much from the school in terms of high performance internet. Wifi is good enough for me.

3 College Junior

Facilities: It really isn't that unique. It's a pretty nice campus compared to most community colleges.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I have had very limited issues with transferring my credits from my other institution.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I'm in the surgical technology program with intentions of transferring into a PA program when I graduate. I feel like you're kind of on your own in terms of making sure you get your requirements done for the major, I've tried to have meetings to plan out my next year and a half and sort of get passed off constantly to someone else. I'm not 100% confident about that aspect of the program, but everything else is ok. I hear the second year is better, so maybe I'll change my mind.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I feel like Iowa Western really does care if you succeed, they have a ton of tutoring opportunities and most instructors are very willing to work with you and help you. They also have a pretty wide selection of programs/majors, especially for a community college.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Extremely easy to get financial aid. The financial aid people are helpful and make things easier to understand.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that I have had okay time with financial aid. THe people in the financial aid office have been a great help.

4 College Junior

Student Body: I have 2 young women right now that are from Russia. There are a few young men from other countries as well. I love the diversity that there is in our school.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I love online courses. I have seemed to do very well with them. I like the flexibility they give me. I can do them after my children go to bed. This means I am not missing out as much of them growing up.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The student center is great. They offer tutoring which is very helpful.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: There really is only one place on campus that you can use a computer. Which also means there is only one place to print and power points or lecture notes. Occasionally our instructors will add something the night before. I don't have a printer at home, so this makes it more difficult to try and be prepared for class.

Facilities: I like the school and the fact that it is very intimate. The instructors know you by name, and will even ask you the following semester how things are going. I think that they would benefit from having like 5 computer work station in the building that the nursing program is in. The only computer lab are that I know of is in the student center. When it is not 5 degrees outside, I have no problem walking, but the colder days it is harder for some students. I like the fact that the school is a smaller campus. The nursing program has all of its classes in the same building. I like that they try to minimize you having to walk all over campus. While this may make me sound lazy, it helps me with my schedule so that I can take classes with only a 10 minute break between. I am still trying to work and spend some time with my children, so the less time that I have to actually spend at school means that I can spend that much more time with my family.

Academic Flexibility: Being a mom of 2, it would be easier if more of my classes for the RN program could be on-line. I understand why they are not, but with no night or evening classes in the RN program either it makes it hard to still work and support my family.

5 College Student

Overall Experience: I have been an online student for my freshman year in college. This school has given me the opportunities to take care of other things, while attending school. Most importantly, I have been able to complete my generals online, which is where I learn best. My school is extremely unique in many ways. The school has different ways of running their programs and ROC (the online program). I would chose my school if I could do it over again. I would change what program I would go into, which would be the Associates Degree in Nursing so I can do my RN to BSN instead of my generals AS.

5 College Student

Academic Experience: Everything has ran smoothly. My major is General Studies in Science. I am an online student, which has given me the opportunity to take as many classes I want one semester or not the other. I have enjoyed everything I have taken online and have had no problems.

Campus Resources: I am an online student!

College Student

Campus Resources: I am also an online student that lives in Oklahoma.

Academic Flexibility: I had to figure out if they would accept a transfer from another school, which was a long drawn out process. No one would respond to my emails, nor return my phone calls.

5 College Student

Career Services: As I have said before, they have given me absolutely no problems.

5 College Student

Online Courses: I LOVE my online classes and truly enjoy them. I have been online for my whole associates degree and I love it very much. I live in Oklahoma, which has made it hard. But IWCC has made this whole process so EASY. All of the professors I have had, along with classmates- they have been truly incredible and a well-rounded group.
