Athletics are a big part of Iowa State life. The football team is an especially big part, and students seem to enjoy attending and supporting the various sporting events. For those who just want to participate in sports for fun, intramural sports leave nothing to be desired. Students from all walks of life find something that tickles their fancy. Students enjoy both intramural and varsity sports, and there is a lot of pride associated with both. Many students also enjoy tailgating at the games. Iowa State has something for athletes of all abilities and is a great place for fans of sports action!

Athletic activity is hard to ignore at Iowa State. If you love the collegiate spirit and strong athletic presence on campus, or you want a college that allows you to participate in sports at various competitive and skill levels, then Iowa State is for you. If you prefer a quieter, less sports-prominent atmosphere, you might want to think about other schools.
