Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Even though many students bring their own laptops, people usually use the computers in Ryan Library. This would be considered the most common computer lab, and there are usually open computers most of the day. The only time when getting a computer can be hard is during exam time or mid-day if a lot of projects are going on at the same time. All of the computers here are Macs that offer Windows or Mac OS. The computer lab in LaPenta Student Union is open all day, but does not have the newer Macs. For incoming students, it would be smart to not even bring a printer. Any computer lab allows for an endless amount of documents to be printed at any given time. It is very convenient for students since Iona is small, and labs are located throughout campus. A student could easily swing by a lab before class and print out his or her work as needed.

Tech support is located in Ryan, which is right across the street from the dorms. All a student has to do is call and ask for help or just walk over and bring his or her computer if it needs to be fixed overnight. The network on campus is very reliable. A connection can be picked up almost anywhere on campus, and students may browse through any site they want.
