4 College Senior

Majors: For admission you need transcript from previous schools or universities, or start from scratch. I suggest you go to counseling to make sure what is your current position and towards what are you moving.

3 College Senior

Majors: It's a lot of work (Science & Technology Department), great professors, there is a class/program that permits you to do an internship with double evaluation: one from your professor and the other from the place of internship. You learn a lot but there is a constant hassle in how to arrange you classes withing campus and outside campus due to availability per periods.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: There is no on campus housing

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is available since there are no dorms on campus. But most students just travel from home, mostly other counties.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Overall is good, but it need more accessibility to certain classes, otherwise you have to divide yourself between campuses or classes online.

4 College Senior

Weather: It's sunny almost every day, sometimes with a little bit of rain, sometimes it rains hard. But it's great.

3 College Senior

Transportation: The main campus area is small-medium so there is no inside transportation from the university. But most classes are on that area so, you don't have to use the car other than to arrive to campus from your home or apartment. There are outside areas on campus near the main campus, you can walk but you should probably take a car.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Sports are a great and big thing on campus. Some athletes practice on campus others have to practice in nearby campuses facilities. Depending on the sport. Justas competitions and Central American & Caribbean Games are extremely important.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: Currently there is no Greek life on campus but the universities around the area permit students from this campus to join in. Specially Mayaguez Greek life.

3 College Senior

Computers: There are computer labs available since 7am at the library and since 8am at the computer center. Ther personal is very helpful but sometimes it gets really crowded, rarely the internet system falls but when it does it takes time, I believe the bad part would be the ongoing raise on printing fees.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I've only been on financial aid for a year and it has been really helpful. Unfortunately just FAFSA isn't enough to cover for the fees and tuition most of the time and it's very difficult to get on the student-working program. And finding a job outside campus without interring with studying hours is even harder.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: I guess everyone is like chill with everyone else. There are many different personalities but all get well ok. Everyone has a very present aspect of respect, mixed with craziness and professionalism.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: The nightlife directly on the area is good, there great local places and the craziness of having a beach all year around. But the best part is that every big hot spot surrounding the area is 30 min away

4 College Senior

Parking: There has been a recent expansion of parking on campus. There is a fee that gives you a permit for the semester and another fee if you study summer (each month independently). The on campus parking is always under security. I've been on this campus since 2011 and I've hear only of 1 or 2 incidents.

4 College Senior

Academics: The campus has great programs. The study load would depend on a mix of your current year, amount of classes and type of department. Both male and female professors are extremely equipped on their areas of expertise. The registration process for a freshman is best to do it personally present in campus since they get a sit down with counselors for a better understanding of the program selected, selection of classes and more. Once you're no longer a freshman you can be confident to register your classes on campus or online, same goes for payment. The most popular departments are: Science & Technology, Computer Systems, Forensics Sciences & Criminology, Nursing, Hotel Management and Radiology.

4 College Senior

Academics: My current major is Biology and my Minor is in Chemistry. Unfortunately my campus doesn't offer Chemistry but it permits you to infuse your curriculum with the campuses nearby. Great male and female professors, lot of workload and internship opportunities depending on you area.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: The private guards on campus are very efficient and helpful. On the medical aspect, there is not an official health center. There is an office that overviews the students with special disabilities and provides medical assistance while the paramedics arrive. There is a hospital nearby.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The campus is very strict towards attending classes, no cheating, respect among students and campus personal, maintaining the campus clean, no drinking alcohol on campus.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: There is a water park, and ice skating range nearby as well as the beach, the mall, many different restaurants and fast foods, yogurt courts, coffee houses, etc. In addition there is also different beaches and nightlife on the surrounding counties a couple of 30-40 minutes away.

3 College Senior

Facilities: Currently the campus is small-medium, but has a great gym, gaming area, parking space and undergoing construction for a student center and new laboratories for the science and technologies department. In addition to good facilities for classes.

4 College Senior

Facilities: The university has great academic programs, almost each year a new program is added. It has a wide rage of student societies that compete each year for the campus cup based on activities on campus and off campus. It grants you the opportunity to a wide variety of courses completely on WEB, and access to other campuses classes as well.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: There is not a lot of peer pressure on campus, people that do use drugs would be alcohol on celebrations outside the campus like most students around the world. Those that use drugs inside campus are based on variations of smoking and prescribed or none prescribed pills for a longer attention span.

5 College Junior

Athletics: They have many of the best athletes in schools' competitions.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are various places to live at, whether you want to share with a roommate, a studio apartment or live in your own nice apartment by yourself.

College Junior

Transportation: You have to either own your car or have someone to carpool with. No way around.
