3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Policies are expected to be adhered to.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The school is very good about making sure there are no alcohol and drugs on campus. Of course people can still sneak but for the most part it is a safe place.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The rules are reasonable and the values the school teaches are good for students.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Most of the problems listed above are not a real issue on campus. It is not a party school and most of the students commute, so after class they leave rather than causing trouble. I do not drink, use drugs, or ditch class, so I do not know how strict they are. I do not live on campus, so I do not know how strict the dorms are. I do know that they will kick students out if needed.

College Junior

Campus Strictness: The strictness has never been an issue for me. I haven't really noticed it.

Students at IUPUI seem to recognize that there are fairly strict rules in place for any foul activity that goes on. Campus police are very present when matters of safety are at stake, and they look as if they take their jobs very seriously. This is not to say that every time there is even the slightest issue, there is an arrest or disciplinary action taking place. Students have plenty of opportunity to break rules and stray from guidelines. The setting at IUPUI is not tightly controlled by any means. However, there are clear and present consequences for cheating, stealing, underage drinking, and any other poor behavior.

Most students at IUPUI are much older than the average college student, so the need for severe strictness is mitigated. Each student takes care of her or his own issues and assumes responsibility for actions taken. There just aren’t that many illegal issues to begin with at IUPUI, but if there were, the police force and administrators would take sufficient action.
