4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: You are right by Clacksville and Louisville so you are able to go shopping and any other activites

4 College Junior

Athletics: Athletics are very important even though we are small school.

Health & Safety: I have lived in the dorms for the past three year and have never felt unsafe. They always send us messages or call if a safety issue has happens, which has only happen once in the past three year I have attend there.

Scholarships: There is little to no help when it comes to finical aid. I had to call another school in the area to ask for help because the woman assigned to help me told me if I really cared about my education I could go homeless and not be selfish by asking for finical aid. Not even worth it.

College Sophomore

Athletics: We only play against one team

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The Ohio valley has crazy weather all the time

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Love love love the computer labs here!! There is at least one in every building and plenty of computers to go around. The computer lab aid is always super nice and willing to help with any problem that you may have.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: My campus is totally dry. I have lived here for a while and have never had an interaction with any drugs. There are very few situations that have happened with alcohol in the dorms but nothing to serious or crazy.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There is hardly anything that makes me feel unsafe here. The worst thing is kids getting into unlocked cars and looking for change. Other then that I feel totally safe being here. IUS police are always willing to help if you ever begin to feel weary.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: Ethnic and racial diversity is almost nonexistent here at IU Southeast.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: No alcohol is to be consumed on campus, even in the dorms. There is no dress code or anything, but you might get a few comments and/or strange glances if your manner of dress goes out of the norm.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone is so courteous at IUS! Most people seem to be a bit preppy, but there a strong presence of geek culture here, as shown by the presence of a Gamers' Society and other geek-oriented clubs.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: There is plenty of space for everyone who goes to IUS to hang out, and the buildings are quite nice.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I feel like a small college, such as IUS, is perfect for me. None of my classes have had more than 30 or so students, so no one will be feeling like they can't get the attention they need when they can't understand something. The surrounding city was most definitely not built around IUS, but there is plenty for students to do when their classes are done for the day. Also, IUS is one of the cheapest schools around!

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I never hear anything about drug use, but it would be safe to say that there are people on campus who use drugs. Fortunately, those who are unintelligent enough to get caught will not go to IUS much longer.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I would say that the biology program is a good program to be in. The workload gets time-consuming, but is not overtly so (I can get everything done while having a large amount of household responsibilities and still get plenty of sleep); neither is the work overly difficult, in my opinion. Biology has plenty of career opportunities at the B.S. level, but even more at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels, so it is recommended to go to graduate school, just like most other sciences.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Registration is super-easy, so you don't have to worry about it being difficult to sign up for your classes. I do recommend that you sign up early because classes tend to fill quickly, and being on the waitlist is not a very good thing. The professors are pretty good, just make sure you do you work. Speaking of doing work, the campus has plenty of places to study, such as two coffee shops, a cafeteria, and a huge library.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are mostly chain restaurants on the same road as IUS, but there are plenty of cool little restaurants when you venture out into the rest of New Albany.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The administration at IUS is highly concerned about student safety. There are University Police who have had actual experience as police officers, and they are friendly people who are willing to help you with whatever safety concern you have.
