College Freshman

Academics: My major is not offered at my university, I will be taking classes for it once I transfer to Purdue.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are very helpful and friendly. The course load is moderate, and there are many opportunities for excelling in academics.

College Freshman

Majors: I would love to start an internship. I can't wait to get training for a job that I'm very excited in learning about.

College Freshman

Majors: The major I have decided I want to pursue is not offered by my current university, I will be transferring to Purdue after some of my more simple prerequisites are out of the way.

Facilities: Indiana University Kokomo is a very well-designed and constantly improving campus. It is a great starter community college, and accommodates everyone equally well.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Professors expect the best from you academically, but are always willing to take time to help outside f class time. The class sizes are pretty small. There is rarely a big 200 people lecture. There are diverse courses offered on campus with lots of opportunity.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I havent had much experience with this aspect of the campus.

Off-Campus Housing: There aren't many off campus housing because it is such a small town and small campus; However, IUK has just put in some dorm housing across the street from campus for some students. The campus is constantly growing.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Applying to the school and the nursing program was super easy to do and directions were simple to follow.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I absolutely LOVE the program at IUK. It is a pretty small campus, so I feel like I get thehelp I need and can form relationships with my peers and professors as well. The campus has kept up to date with all of its so it hasjust as much opportunity as the next school. I feel like I'm getting my money worth for my education.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are many places within 10 mintues of driving from campus to eat.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus is pretty small. This allows the campus police to be strict and effective with important rules on college campus'.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: My mom previously worked on this campus and now works at Purdue University. Her assistance was really all I needed in filling out financial aid.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a good group of people who attend IUK.

Majors: I plan to have internships in the near future. I have not looked into these yet so I am not sure if I can answer this yet.

4 College Senior

Majors: I would continue to choose the business program at IUK if I had to do it again. I am finding excellent programs to include myself in to learn more about my field and eventually will use these to get my name out there for when I open my non-profit after graduating.

Campus Strictness: I feel that their no smoking policy should not include e-cigarettes since many smokers are using them to be able to obey the non smoking rules. This product has no effect on others and as adults we should be able to choose to use them in place of smoking on campus.

4 College Senior

Facilities: IUK offers lots of activities, study spots, places to hang out and my only complaint is that because it is a non-smoking campus they do not give students who smoke a feasable place to do so when they have to be on campus all day long.

Off-Campus Dining: If you want off-campus dining that is affordable, you have about 4 McDonalds on the same road. We have a few other fast food options and then it rises in prices to the not-so-affordable restaurants. Granted, there are a few new restaurants that have opened up, but it is usually your average pizza, burgers, and expensive steaks. On a student budget with many bills to pay, I usually pack my lunch.

Computers: Technology is fairly up-to-date on campus. We have IUware available to any student which allows us to download free software including photoshop and microsoft. We also have discounted software available in the bookstore. The only downside is that we lose all discounted software we bought and the free software we downloaded about 60 days after graduation.

Transportation: The only transportation options are either by taxi (which is expensive) or by the city bus. A lot of students commute to school from different cities than Kokomo. The city bus only works for those students who actually live in town.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There will always be students who partake in drugs such as alcohol and marijuana. It is usually fairly easy to pick those students out as well. However, as far as I can see it does not cause peer pressure.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: So far, I have received the financial assistance that I needed. The only financial aid process that needs to be completed is the FAFSA. The school even has FAFSA workshops to help make sure the students fill it out right.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: We don't have actual dorms and on campus housing. However, the Annex is being built next to the school for an off-campus solution to student housing. I am not sure on the prices and whether it is affordable, but it is nice for those who want to live next to IUK.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I say it is okay because I have not had an internship yet. I hope to get an internship my junior year through the summer maybe. I have bills and other costs to pay for so I have a job that takes up my time when I am not in class and cannot afford to miss school for an internship that does not pay anything. However, in the summer I hope to be able to use the extra time I have to have an internship experience. I have concerns finding an internship close by that hopefully pays since I will be losing hours at work.
