Computers: I was really surprised by how good our Lenovo Ultrabooks are. They have a pretty big screen, nice keys, we had good software on them, and we got all of the Microsoft office programs for free. I got the laptop scholarship because I had a 3.0 or higher gpa, which means many students got these laptops. I honestly do not know of any computer labs we have on campus because we are so reliant on our laptops, but I know that most of the time the computers in the library on the first floor are pretty full. Many international students use those computers, and there are generally many people on the first floor because there are computers. For me, the network was just fine and access to wifi was great. However my roommate had some issues with her network reliability. As a freshman, I needed my laptop a lot. Most english teachers ask for most of your assignments to be turned in typed, a chart to be made (science), or software to be downloaded (music). Most teachers and RA's communicate with you through e-mail also, so laptops are very important.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: The printing fees are low and there are always open computers in the library

5 College Freshman

Computers: The computers are great. The University even has wireless printing all around campus.

4 College Senior

Computers: It is necessary to have a laptop for classes at ISU. Incoming freshman typically receive a scholarship for one; however, this does not apply to transfer students. The only computer labs are located in the library and it is difficult to find an open one at times. Wireless access, reliability, and speed do not seem to be an issue.
