3 College Sophomore

Weather: It is tooooo cold up here.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Wish I could get more money.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The girls here are average kids, no one really too rich or too poor, or ugly and pretty. The girls are nice and not petty. There are athletic ones and lazy ones.

Facilities: Campus is clean and newer, but some of the buildings aren't as new and require more cleaning to make it look better.

Diversity: There are many different types of students and backgrounds at this school. I like it because you meet people and learn a lot about their culture.

Greek Life: It isn't actually considered Greek Life, but we have literary societies that do a lot for the campus and community and a lot of service. I was rushing and it seemed like a lot of fun..

3 College Freshman

Computers: The computer situation on campus is not bad at all because they make a lot of computers available to you on campus. The problem is the wi fi sucks sometimes so make sure you bring an Ethernet cord.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I like the major so the workload isn't bad because I like to write and read. The oppurtunities around campus are also great, we have the writing center and also things to do like reading nights, ect.

3 College Freshman

Academics: IT is liberal art so there are mixtures of different subjects to learn. I don't know how I feel about it yet.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: I don't pay attention because I have my own car, but I haven't heard of zip cars or taxis so I never see them either on or around campus. The shuttle it fairly ok for students to use.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It is not bad living on campus because the buildings aren't old but they aren't brand new either.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I don't really know much about it but thye wont let you live off campus except when you are a junior or senior.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: They offer skits and situations/plays about when dealing with drugs and drinking so they make sure we know the consequences.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I just am looking for something different, it is a great school but it isn't really for me I don't think.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It is horrible at all it is decent and easy to work with if you follow the rules.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There are 3 different places that you can eat on campus. As it is a small campus, they are easily accessible. Also this gives you the availability of meals at times suitable with class schedules. Each place has a good variety to choose from. If nothing suits you, there are always the vending machines.

Local Atmosphere: Jacksonville is quite open to the student population. The students have community service projects going out into the community to assist as needed in bettering the area. Classes go to the elementary school to assist children having reading difficulties. Area restaurants have come to campus passing out sandwich samples. They interact with concerts, theater events, homecoming parades, to name a few. The area is known for the business that makes carnival rides as well as being well known for historical sites of the underground railroad.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel relatively safe on campus. My only concern is a few unlit areas at the outer edges of the campus (I like to walk alone after dark). I haven't really heard of any crimes, other than some petty theft of banners. The students and staff have access to emergency alerts via email or text message. Security personnel are easily accessible.

4 College Freshman

Computers: We have sufficient amounts of computer labs with multiple access in the library while accessibility varies with the time of day. Network reliability is about average, slightly slower than normal and wireless is available almost everywhere on campus. Printing is excellent with each dorm having at least one printer. All printing, except for color, is quite cost effective, as it is free. A student probably should have their own computer just for the overload times in the labs, which can lead to added stress, and for their own personal enjoyment.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics take a "backseat" to the academic aspect of campus life. The athletes are well rounded, performing well at their chosen sport, while focusing primarily on their academics. Since they are excellent students and are able to balance academics, social , and athletics, they receive a tremendous amount of fan support. Illinois College students take pride in our teams, whether it be varsity or intramural sports.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is quite a variety of racial/ethnic diversity on campus. There are students from multiple countries and backgrounds. There are also students with different sexualities and gender identities. From what I have observed there are students from many different family and economic backgrounds, such as single parents, same sex parents, etc. Also, there is a variety of different religious groups. Illinois College prides itself in the diverse population of its students, as is shown in its acceptance of all and the development of organizations to meet the needs and interests of each group while teaching the students the importance of acceptance and working together as a team.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It has a small town feel but with a touch of the big city life. Which is good, because I don't like large throngs of people surrounding me at all times. I like to have a little peace and quiet every now and then and my college town allows that.

College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls at my school are ok. They are fun to hang out with, but when it comes to serious learning they pale in comparison with some of the people that I went to high school with. The women are usually stuck up and huge party goers. And the guys are no better with all of them being complete jocks with only a few exceptions.
