3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I have not had the opportunity to live off-campus, but from what I hear from others, it's relatively safe and within close proximity of bus stops which are two important factors when it comes to living off campus.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: A lot of people seem to have difficulties with it, but I don't. I rent a room in a house in McKinleyville (the town north of Arcata) for only $375 per month, and then either ride my bike or take the bus to campus. It is in a great spot just two blocks from the ocean and right along wide open cow pastures. Most of the houses are small and especially in McKinleyville and Manila, very beachy looking.

Off-Campus Housing: It's great. Their are many houses all around the campus. The houses tend to be very beautiful and landlords are typically very nice and helpful as are most people in arcata. They aren't usually very far from campus and if they are there is usually a bus route that goes through your area and directly to campus.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: The school does help students who have lived to live off campus by providing students with information needed to get their best housing option

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have lived both on and off campus. On campus is great as a freshman to meet other people, I highly suggest looking into the themed housing because you will meet people with similar and overlapping interests to begin with. However, I would suggest moving off campus for the remainder of your time here to both save money and be able to have the freedom dorms can't offer.
