3 College Junior

Academics: The academics are good. The teachers in most majors are great.

Academics: If you want to do something science related, especially something environmental, then Humboldt would be a great option for you.

Academics: HSU has the oldest and largest environmental engineering program on the west coast of our nation. Thus there are plenty of opportunities to get early, hands-on work or internships. I, for example, went on an appropriate technologies trip with Professor Lonny Grafman to study abroad last summer in the Dominican Republic, and had the opportunity to sustainably build a cistern with a pharmacy on top of it. If you look hard enough, you'll find really amazing/altering opportunities through HSU.

Academics: Professors seem to love teaching and being in class. They're very understanding and willing to help whenever they can, office hours are always available. The Elementary Education program has minor glitches that can be better in reference to some professors who teach certain classes (we need teachers who are teaching future teachers and not plain lecturers). Registration is straight forward, haven't had any problems. Like others have said before, it is college so hard work is expected but definitely pays off. There's tutoring and study buddy groups available if you need them. Any science major is perfect for Humboldt (ie: botany, forestry, biology) as well as the kinesiology major.
