2 College Freshman

Parking: I don't have a car, however I do have quite a few friends who do, and I can see that campus parking is a little difficult.

College Sophomore

Parking: there is no off-campus parking near campus, we a re a little isolated from town. Down town, however, parking averages $3 and there are plenty of parking garages.

3 College Freshman

Parking: There's a $75 parking sticker per year, freshmen have to park in what's called "siberia" but it's maybe a five minuet walk from tinker so it's not too bad.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: the parking is terrible! they are all kind of far from classes and dorms, they have no problem hadning out tickets if you are improperly parked. A car on campus isnt necessary if you stay on campus a alot but if you like to travel and go place it is nice to have. Parking spaces are too hard to come by

2 College Freshman

Parking: We have multiple parking lots available to the entire community. However, get those headphones out, or bring a friend with you, because you will have quite a walk getting to your car.

Worried about gaining the famous "Freshman 15" from all the greasy cafeteria food and late night snacks? Never fear! The trek to your car in Siberia parking lot will keep you slim. Parking there is a little inconvenient in the middle of the night when the temperature is below freezing, but Hollins women are much better off than students at larger campuses. Really, the walk from Siberia lot to the dorms is only five to eight minutes long, depending on where you live, and everyone gets used to it after a while.

One thing students can't seem to get used to are the parking regulations. At the beginning of the year, you will hand $50 to the woman behind the desk at the campus security office, and she will hand you a parking permit, complete with all the rules about where and where not to park. Read this pamphlet! The campus police don't see much action at Hollins, so they release their crime-fighting urges by throwing parking tickets around like confetti. Parking tickets usually cost $25 or $50, depending on what you do wrong, but they add up quickly.
